Bad Bunny Celebrates History-Making 1 Billion Spotify Streams for “Tití Me Preguntó”

Bad Bunny is celebrating his the latest streaming hit…

The 29-year-old Puerto Rican Grammy-winning superstar recently visited Spotify’s newly launched Billions Club series.

Bad BunnyBad Bunny stopped by the series to enjoy a “Billions Brunch” with some of his closest friends and collaborators.

“The feeling of having 1 billion streams for this song right now is the same emotion I felt when I got 5,000 plays for the first time,” Bad Bunny said. “For me, it’s just as big knowing that there are people who want to listen and want to enjoy what you make.” 

The song in question is “Tití Me Preguntó,” a track from his historic Un Verano Sin Ti album that officially reached 1 billion Spotify streams on January 23.

According to Spotify, Bad Bunny has 12 songs with more than 1 billion streams each on the platform — more than any other artist in Spotify history. He has accumulated 58 billion streams on the service, reigning as Spotify’s most-streamed artist of the year for the past three years.

In the video, Bad Bunny feasted on a lavish meal set on several plaques that commemorated his other songs with over 1 billion Spotify streams, including “Yonaguni,” “Dákiti” (with Jhayco) and “MIA” (with Drake).

In addition to basking in his record-breaking streaming success, the “Después de la Playa” singer also recounted the story behind the creation of “Tití Me Preguntó.” When tasked with telling the story of the song in 10 seconds, he replied, “That’s impossible. That’s a lifetime of love and romance.”

“It’s a song that was born very spontaneously,” he added. “All of the people mentioned in the song exist in real life. Nothing I say in that song is a lie, including the part where I say I want to fall in love, but I can’t.”

Nonetheless, Bad Bunny declined to specify which aunt he was singing about, because “they’ll get jealous and create a mess.”

Toward the end of his Billions Club episode, Bad Bunny made sure to thank his fans for their continued support, as well as his mother and father for believing in him “not just in music, but with every decision [he’s] made” in his life.

Bad Bunny has earned 11 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including his sole No. 1 single “I Like It” (with Cardi B & J Balvin). On the Billboard 200, he has notched five top 10 projects, two of which have reached the ranking’s summit: El Ultimo Tour Del Mundo (one week) and Un Verano Sin Ti (13 weeks).

After dominating the past year with his blockbuster, Grammy-winning album Un Verano Sin Ti  and a slew of follow-up singles and collaborations, the 29-year-old Puerto Rican superstar is shifting his attention to new music.

Bad BunnyIn an interview with Rolling Stone, published on Wednesday, Bad Bunny confirmed that a collaboration with Travis Scott is on the way.

“We worked on that a while back — and I think Travis has been working on his project for a minute,” remarked the “Me Porto Bonito” singer. “I don’t know if maybe I’ll release a song [this year] if I like it enough, but I don’t think so. I said this year was for resting.”

The song would mark the first collaboration between the two artists.

Last month (May 29), a video surfaced of an alleged snippet of a song users attributed to Bad Bunny and Scott.

The very same day, BNYX, the producer behind Drake’s Billboard Hot 100 No. 2 hit “Search & Rescue,” quoted the tweet and played into the speculation with a couple of peeking emojis.

Regardless of when the song arrives, the collaboration is almost certain to be a massive success.

Bad Bunny’s 2022 release, Un Verano Sin Ti, spent a whopping 13 weeks atop the Billboard 200 and spawned four Hot 100 top ten hits: “Moscow Mule” (No. 4), “Tití Me Preguntó” (No. 5), “Después de la Playa” (No. 6) and the Chencho Corleone-assisted “Me Porto Bonito” (No. 6).

Just last month, Bad Bunny earned his milestone tenth career Hot 100 top ten with the No. 8-peaking “Where She Goes.”

Bad Bunny Logs Sixth Week at No. 1 on Billboard Artist 100 Chart

The 28-year-old Puerto Rican superstar has notched a sixth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart dated September 17, rebounding from No. 2 to reign as the top musical act in the U.S. due to the continued success of his LP Un Verano Sin Ti.

Bad Bunny,The album spends a milestone 10th week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 99,500 equivalent album units earned in the September 2-8 tracking week, according to Luminate.

It surpasses the Encanto soundtrack for the most week logged at No. 1 this year. It also becomes just the eighth album released since 2000 to spend 10 or more weeks at the summit.

Bad Bunny concurrently places nine songs on the Billboard Hot 100, the most of any act, and 22 on Hot Latin Songs.

Bad Bunny has tallied all six of his weeks atop the Artist 100 this year, starting on the May 21 chart when Un Verano Sin Ti launched at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. He ties The Weeknd for the most weeks leading the Artist 100 in 2022.

The Artist 100 measures artist activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay and streaming to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
