Thorne Helps Bring Pre-Thanksgiving Cheer to the Homeless

Bella Thorne is a creature of philanthropic habit…

The 16-year-old half-Cuban actress, singer and soon-to-be published author took part in Los Angeles Mission‘s annual Thanksgiving for the Homeless on Wednesday, November 27.

Thorne, who participated in the event last year, joined hundreds of other volunteers who put on the red aprons and helped serve hot meals to the homeless.

Thorne, who rocked a black-and-white sweatshirt, was joined by her boyfriend Tristan Klier who planted a kiss on her head at one point. She also took to Twitter to write, “getting ready to serve some hot meals at @TheLAMission #skidrowmeal. just a couple dollars serves a whole meal to someone in need.”

Other celebrities joining the annual charitable event included former The Real Housewives of Orange County star Gretchen Rossi, supernanny Jo Frost, singer Allison Paige, former Desperate Housewives star Andrea Bowen and model Arianny Celeste.

Bobadilla Signs with Paradigm Talent Agency

The 20-year-old Mexican-born Canadian actress, who currently stars on FX’s Anger Management, has signed with Paradigm Talent Agency, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Bobadilla, who plays the teenage daughter of Charlie Sheen‘s character on the FX comedy series, is leaving ICM Partners to reunite with Iris Grossman, the veteran agent who departed for Paradigm in June.

Other Grossman clients who have already made the move include Mandy Patinkin, Julie Benz and Ed O’Neill.

Last month Bobadilla starred in the Lifetime telepic The Cheating Pact.

Previously she was a series regular on the NBC drama Awake and has guest-starred on Desperate Housewives, Big Time Rush and Emily Owens M.D.

Longoria Partnering with the CW for a Legal Drama Project

Eva Longoria is set to bring some legal aid to the CW…

The 38-year-old Mexican American actress/producer and former Desperate Housewives star is teaming up with the network to create a legal drama project that will feature the CW’s signature soapy elements.

Written by Nikita co-executive producer Albert Kim, the untitled drama centers on a woman imprisoned for a double murder she didn’t commit who earns her law degree while behind bars, then wins her freedom and joins the high-powered law firm that she believes is at the center of the conspiracy that framed her.

Longoria’s UnbeliEVAble Entertainment will produce the project with Warner Bros. Television.

This marks UnbeliEVAble’s third sale this season. The company also has Trust, an hourlong soap based on the popular Colombian telenovela Pura Sangre, and a comedy inspired by sex therapist Laura Berman, both at NBC.

Longoria is currently serving as an executive producer on Lifetime’s Devious Maids, which was recently renewed for a second season.

Longoria Among This Year’s Hispanic Heritage Awards Honorees

She’s one of the Latino community’s biggest advocates… And, now Eva Longoria is being recognized for her efforts.

The 38-year-old Mexican American actress, who recently received a special award from the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), has been named a Hispanic Heritage Awards honoree.

The Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) recently announced this year’s eight honorees, with the former Desperate Housewives star at the top of the list.

The Hispanic Heritage Awards celebrate Hispanic cultural pride, contributions, and accomplishments,

Longoria will receive the Community Service Award, for her endless list of charitable and political efforts within the Latino community.

Longoria and her fellow honorees will be celebrated during the prestigious Hispanic Heritage Awards on September 5 at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

The awards presentation will be broadcast on MundoFox on Sunday, September 15, at 6:00 pm EST.

Longoria to Guest Star on NBC’s New Comedy “Welcome to the Family”

She may be the executive producer of Lifetime’s hit series Devious Maids… But that doesn’t mean Eva Longoria won’t be back in front of the cameras again soon.

In fact, the 38-year-old Mexican American actress, who will be receiving a special award from the NCLR this evening, will guest star on an episode of NBC’s upcoming comedy series Welcome to the Family, which stars her onscreen husband from the long-running ABC dramedy Desperate Housewives, Ricardo A Chavira.

According to Longoria, Chavira called and asked her to come on the show and she agreed, adding that she’s very excited to be working with him again.

The Sony Pictures Television-produced series centers on a Caucasian and Latino family forced together by the unplanned pregnancy of their teen kids. Sparks between Longoria and Chavira will fly again as Longoria will play Ms. Nunez, the English teacher of Demetrio (Fabrizio Guido) who has a romantic history with the boy’s father Miguel (Chavira) from before he was married.

The series also stars Joey Haro and Justina Machado.

Longoria to Executive Produce NBC Sitcom Inspired by Therapist Laura Berman

NBC has put in development a multi-camera comedy inspired by the life of relationship therapist Laura Berman, with the 38-year-old Mexican American actress and former Desperate Housewives star attached to executive produce.

The untitled project, from writer-producers Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont, centers on a female sex & relationship therapist who helps patients deal with intimacy, love and unusual fetishes — but that’s nothing compared to navigating the relationships with her ex-husband, his new girlfriend and her own mother, all while raising her two young sons.

Universal Television is producing the comedy, which falls under the first-look deal Longoria and her UnevliEVAble Entertainment inked with the company last fall.

Longoria is  currently an executive producer on Lifetime’s hit sudser Devious Maids. She also produced NBC’s short-lived dating series Ready for Love.

Berman, who stars in the OWN series In the Bedroom with Dr. Laura Berman and is a regular guest on The Dr. Oz Show, will serve as a co-exec producer on the project.

Walsh’s “The Starving Games” Hitting Theaters In November

Maiara Walsh will be starving for box office attention this November…

Ketchup Entertainment has acquired the distribution rights to The Starving Games for a November 8 theatrical release.

The film, which stars the 25-year-old Brazilian American actress, is a satire of the blockbuster-hit film The Hunger Games.

From spoofmeisters Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer –the masterminds behind Scary Movie, Epic Movie and Date Movie – follows a young girl named Kantmiss (portrayed by Walsh) as she participates in a barbaric annual competition against fellow youngsters.

In addition to Walsh, the film also stars Cody Christian, Lauren Bowles, Brant Daugherty and Diedrich Bader.

The parody pic will also take aim at other pop culture phenomenons including The Avengers, Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter, Psy and Taylor Swift.

Walsh’s credits include Desperate Housewives, Cory in the House and Switched at Birth.

Longoria Receives Master’s Degree in Chicano Studies

The 38-year-old Mexican American actress graduated this week with a Master’s degree in Chicano Studies from California State University, Northridge.

The former Desperate Housewives star, who is serving as an executive producer on Lifetime’s highly anticipated sudser Devious Maids, had been pursuing her Master’s for the last three years.

During the official graduation ceremony this week, Longoria joined her fellow classmates to collect her degree, which she earned in part by writing a thesis entitled “Success STEMS From Diversity: The Value of Latinas in STEM Careers.

“STEM” is the acronym for science, technology, engineering and math.

Longoria also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology from Texas A&M University, according to IMDB.

A representative for the actress said tshe attended classes in person and studied simultaneously while working on Desperate Housewives, even bringing her university classwork to the film set.

To celebrate her graduation, Longoria went to dinner with her parents after the ceremony.

She also posted several photographs on her account page on the Whosay social network showing her wearing her graduation robes and posing with several family members and friends.

Haro Lands Role in NBC’s “Welcome to the Family” Pilot

Joey Haro is about to make things a little awkward for his familia in his next television project…

The Cuban-American actor, who has appeared on MTV’s Awkward and Fox’s Glee, has landed the role of Junior in NBC’s comedy pilot Welcome to the Family.

He’ll portray the son of Latino parents, portrayed by Despertate Housewive’s Ricardo Chavira and Six Feet Under’s Justina Machado in the project, which chronicles just how two cultures collide when a white family and a Latino family are united by their children, who fare falling in love must deal with an unplanned pregnancy.

Mike O’Malley and Mary McCormack will also star in the comedy pilot as the white parents.

Haro, best known for portraying  Clark Stevenson on Awkward and one of the dapper Warblers on Glee,   appeared on Broadway as Chino in the West Side Story revival in 2009.

Machado to Star in NBC’s “Welcome to the Family” Pilot

She shared scenes with Eva Longoria on Desperate Housewives… And now Justina Machado will be acting alongside Longoria’s TV husband.

The Puerto Rican actress has been cast as one of the leads in NBC’s comedy pilot Welcome to the Family. She’ll portray Ricardo Chavira’s ex-wife in the project, which also stars Mike O’Malley and Mary McCormack.

Machado’s character Lisette works at the Department of Motor Vehicles and is committed to co-parenting her son with her ex-husband Miguel (Chavira).

The project chronicles just how two cultures collide when a white family and a Latino family are united by their children, who fare falling in love must deal with an unplanned pregnancy.

It’s Machado’s latest pilot project this season, following her casting in USA’s Paging Dr. Freed project.

Machado’s television credits include HBO’s Six Feet Under, ER and Three Rivers.
