Zion y Lennox Release First “Salsa-fied” Single “Desnúdate”

Zion y Lennox are stripping down for their next single…

The Puerto Rican reggaeton music duo has released their first single of the year called “Desnúdate.”

Steering away from their signature old-school reggaetón essence and catchy perreo sound, Zion y Lennox experiment with salsa music for the first time, at the helm of co-producers Sergio George and Motiff.

The duo sings about love and betrayal, but admitted that performing the urban-infused salsa track was quite challenging.

“Without a doubt, this was one of the biggest challenges in our career but we were able to interpret it with love and compassion,” Zion tells Billboard of the tropical genre that they grew up listening to and respecting. “For us, it’s more than an honor to make this song in homage to all the salseros of Puerto Rico and around the world.”

To the hard-hitting rhythms of congas and trumpets, “Desnúdate” is about a girl who leads a man on and doesn’t want anything serious. “Oh no, oh no, you entangled me in your skin/you played with me […] get undressed, don’t tell me you care for me, you love me/ I knew you were like the rest that said they loved me but I do love you,” the pair laments.

“I am super excited about everything that is coming for the tropical genre, especially in salsa with these new sounds that I am experimenting with,” expressed Motiff.

“‘Desnúdate’ is undoubtedly part of the seasoning to all the salsa that is coming this 2023!!”

Aguilera Releases Risqué Artwork for New Album

On her last album Bionic, Christina Aguilera encouraged listeners to “Desnudate”… But on her latest studio effort, she’s the one getting naked.

The 31-year-old half-Ecuadorian songstress has released the oh-so-revealing cover artwork for her forthcoming album Lotus.

Aguilera wears nothing to cover her skin but her long, flowing blond hair to cover her breasts, while a white light effect conceals her lower body part. She stands at the center of a lotus flower as if she’s blossoming from it.

When discussing album, she explained the meaning behind the title, “Album title: Lotus. Representing an unbreakable flower that survives under the hardest conditions and still thrives.”

“If you love ‘Fighter‘, you’re going to love my new album,” she gushed about the new record in an interview with Lucky magazine. “As a 31-year-old woman, I’ve been uncovering my independence, and it’s been really fun to explore in the new songs.”

On another occasion, she told Ryan Seacrest, “This album is about self-expression and freedom. There is a lot I have gone through personally over the past few years, and this record represents a rebirth for me. The record is about freedom and getting back to the root of who I am and what I love to do.”

Aguilera’s seventh studio album will be released on November 13, with “Your Body” as its lead single.

De Azlan Releases New Single That Fuses Country & Mariachi

Star De Azlan is setting her sights on a musical crossover by embracing her Mexican American heritage…

The 27-year-old  Mexican-American singer has just released her latest single “Si quieres verme llorar,” which integrates her Hispanic roots into her overall sound by fusing her country music with mariachi.

“My style is country, mariachi and pop; it’s a fusion that can be defined as country in Spanish with Mexican touches that sounds very good,” De Azlan, who was born Esther Gonzalez, told Efe during a promotional stop in Los Angeles.

Produced by Pepe Quintana, known for his work with musical icons such as Maná, Luis Miguel and Sting, De Azlan’s track is a new version of a classic melody popularized by Lisa Lopez.

“It’s a song that has not been done in 25 years and which now with the arrangements that Pepe Quintana put into it sounds fresher,” said the singer, who grew up in Central Texas. “It’s a song that I can sing from my soul and my heart and in which I can project my voice.”

The promotional single forms part of De Azlan’s new album, which contains original compositions like “Desnudate” and “Como una flor.”

De Azlan, who signed to Curb Records in 2007, released her debut single “She’s Pretty” in early 2008. The song peaked at #51 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.

Now, the artist is marrying her love of country music while singing in Spanish in her quest to carve out a niche for herself in a segment of the market where she feels right at home.

Si me quieres ver llorar” is available on iTunes.

Aguilera Sings Spanish Song “La Casa” for Will Ferrel’s New Film…

It appears Christina Aguilera is embracing her Latin roots once again…

The 31-year-old half-Ecuadorian singer appears on the soundtrack for Will Ferrell’s telenovela-inspired film, Casa de Mi Padre.

Aguilera’s flamenco-inspired track, which opens the comedy film, features Spanish guitars, brass trumpets and synthesizer-free vocals.

Casa marks The Voice mentor’s first true return to Spanish-language singing since her contribution to the Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights soundtrack, “El Beso Del Final,” in 2004. In addition, her most recent album, Bionic, featured the bilingual track “Desnudate.”

But nearly 12 years ago, Aguilera took the biggest stab at celebrating her Latin roots… She released a full-length Spanish album in 2000 entitled Mi Reflejo. Containing Spanish versions of songs from her English debut and new Spanish tracks, the album went on to win the Latin Grammy for best female pop vocal album and went No.1 on the Billboard Latin charts for a record 20 weeks.

Entitled “La Casa,” Aguilera’s new track was released digitally this week.

Meanwhile Casa de Mi Padre opens nationwide on March 17.
