Apple TV+ Releases Trailer for Wagner Moura’s New Series “Dope Thief”

Apple TV+ has released a new trailer for Dope Thief, starring the 48-year-old Golden Globe-nominated Brazilian actor and Brian Tyree Henry as two long-time friends who pose as feds to “rip off drug dealers”.

“These guys are going to come after us, man,” a distraught Manny Cespedes (Moura) tells Henry’s Ray Driscoll in the trailer. “These people are gonna hurt anybody that we care about,” says Henry’s Ray.

Based on Dennis Tafoya’s book of the same name, Dope Thief hails from Peter Craig and Ridley Scott.

In addition to Henry and Moura, the cast includes Marin Ireland, Kate Mulgrew, Nesta Cooper, Amir Arison and Ving Rhames.

Dope Thief hails from Apple Studios and is being produced by Scott Free Production.

Craig wrote all eight episodes, and will helm one, in his directorial debut.

It will premiere with the first two episodes on Friday, March 14, 2025 followed by new episodes every Friday through April 25 on Apple TV+.

Michael Mando to Star in Apple TV+’s Crime Drama Series “Sinking Spring”

Michael Mando is springing into action…

The 41-year-old Latino Canadian actor and Better Call Saul star has been cast opposite Brian Tyree Henry in Apple TV+’s crime drama series Sinking Spring.

Michael MandoThe project, which hails from Peter Craig, will be directed and executive produced by Ridley Scott via his Scott Free Productions.

Based on Dennis Tafoya’s book Dope ThiefSinking Spring follows long-time Philly friends and delinquents who pose as DEA agents to rob an unknown house in the countryside, only to have their small-time grift become a life-and-death enterprise, as they unwittingly reveal and unravel the biggest hidden narcotics corridor on the Eastern seaboard.

Mando will play Manny Cespedes, a good-hearted friend of Ray’s (Henry), who he first met when they did time together in the Youth Authority.

Craig created the eight-episode series, executive produces and will direct one episode. Scott executive produces for Scott Free Productions alongside David W. Zucker, Jordan Sheehan and Clayton Krueger.

Henry executive produces, and Tafoya will serve as consulting producer.

The series hails from Apple Studios and will be produced by Scott Free Productions.

Mando portrayed Nacho Varga on all six seasons of AMC’s Better Call Saul, recently receiving Hollywood Critics Association Awards, Saturn Awards and Gold Derby nominations for Best Supporting Actor for the final season.

He’s also known for the role of Vic in Orphan Black, Vaas Montenegro in the Far Cry VG franchise, as well as The Scorpion in Spiderman: No Way Home.
