“You are pretty, I am ruling, we kiss but we are homies,” they sing on the dembow anthem with underlying flamenco claps.

Following the big news, Balvin even dropped his new single “Perra” in collaboration with Dominican newcomer Tokischa. Fusing the best of both worlds, the track fuses Balvin’s edgy reggaeton beats with Tokischa’s witty dembow. With its flirtatious and street slang lyrics, “Perra” is a raunchy track about two people who desire each other.

JOSE is Balvin’s fifth studio album following La Familia (2013), Energia (2016), Vibras (2018), and Colores (2020), which peaked No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart.

Prior to Colores, Balvin joined forces with Bad Bunny on the eight-track Oasis, which debuted and peaked at No. 1 on Top Latin Albums dated July 13, 2019, where it led for eight weeks. The set also debuted and peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard 200.

Carlos Arroyo Releases New Single “Morena,” Featuring Nicky Jam & Jeon

Carlos Arroyo, Nicky Jam, Jeon

Reeling in reggaeton star Nicky Jam and urban newcomer Jeon, Arroyo offers up a hard-hitting reggaeton and dembow track married with Middle Eastern-infused dance beats.

Produced by Saga WhiteBlack, “Morena” is about a man who’s trying to conquer the girl he likes at the club. The song’s melodies and catchy hooks easily remind fans of old-school reggaeton singles like Don Omar’s “Dale Don.”

The edgy music video, helmed by director Gus, features all three artists in a parking garage loaded with dancers, cars, neon lights and fire.

Arroyo previously played in the NBA for teams like the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat. He kicked off his music career in 2009, collaborating with artists like Yomo and Ivy Queen. He’s currently the general manager of the Puerto Rico national team.

Balancing his love for basketball and music, Arroyo returned to the scene in 2020 after a nine-year hiatus and has since collaborated with FarrukoRauw AlejandroLuis Fonsi, and Jowell & Randy.

Danna Paola Teams Up with Morat for New Single “Idiota”

Danna Paola is reuniting with Morat for new music…

The 25-year-old Mexican actress/singer has joined voices once again with the Colombian quartet for their new song “Idiota.”

Danna Paola, Morat

While not the first time they collaborate, this new song reinforces the bonds that unite Morat with Mexico.

The song, originally composed by Morat, together with Mauricio Rengifo and Andrés Torres, has a rhythmic pattern that resembles dembow, and closely represents the current Latin landscape.

That’s why they reeled in a female voice to complete and effectively narrate the story behind it. It’s a beautiful mix of vocals that perfectly give life to the story adding Danna’s pop fusions.

The lyrics talk about a love that is gone but you can’t forget, and you are trying to get back. It phrases the advice that you have probably given or gotten from your friends: “If you love something, let it goIf it comes back to you, it’s yours forever. If it doesn’t, then it was never meant to be.”
