A Tiny Audience is unveiling its season 3 lineup, with the 35-year-old Mexican indie-pop singer and composer among the participating artists.

Presented by HBO Latino, the series features intimate live specials with some of Latin music’s hottest acts, including Paulina Rubio in season 2, where the artist is filmed in a live and unfiltered way, revealing a personal secret to the small audience and performing songs that are meaningful to them.

In its new season, HBO Latino Presents: A Tiny Audience will present Morrison, Danna Paola, Jessie Reyez, Justin Quiles, La India, Mike Bahia, Ximena Sariñana, Jay Wheeler, Becky G, Zion y Lennox, Robin Thicke, Manuel Medrano, Leslie Grace, Guaynaa, El Fantasma, Aleks Syntek and a tribute to Celia Cruz.

Season 3 premieres on April 22 on HBO/HBO Max in the U.S. and DirecTV/DirecTV GO in Latin America.

Morat Signs Worldwide Publishing Deal with Warner Chappell Music

Morat has a new global publishing deal…

The Colombian band, comprised of lead singers and main songwriters Juan Pablo Isaza and Juan Pablo Villamil, has signed a worldwide publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music.

According to the publishing company, the deal covers future works as well as the pair’s entire back catalog.

“We’re delighted to partner with Warner Chappell Music and are proud to have them represent our catalogue,” Isaza and Villamil said in a statement. “They have an incredible global roster and we’re looking forward to getting the opportunity to collaborate with some of them in the future.”

The deal with Isaza and Villamil was led by Santiago Menéndez-Pidal, president of Warner Chappell Music South Europe; Gustavo Menéndez, president of Warner Chappell Music Latin; Javier Dean and Carmen Picado, A&R director and A&R manager for Warner Chappell Music Spain, respectively; and Daniel Mora, managing director of Warner Chappell Music Colombia.

Menéndez added, “At Warner Chappell Music we are big believers in cross-territory collaboration. By regularly working closely with Santi, Javier, Carmen and Daniel, we have been able to build a relationship with Juan Pablo Isaza and Juan Pablo Villamil. They are exceptional songwriters, and our Warner Chappell territories around the world will be looking forward to working with them going forward.”

Isaza and Villamil have not only penned songs for their Colombian folk-pop band, which also includes brothers Martín Vargas and Simón Vargas, but have also written tracks for artists such as Danna Paola, Juanes, Paulina Rubio, Reik and Sebastián Yatra.

“They’ve already had incredible success and have great experience writing for huge international artists so it’s going to be exciting watching them tap into our global network and work with writers from all over the world,” Menéndez-Pidal said in a statement. “I’d like to thank Gustavo for all his work in helping us get this deal over the line.”

With more than 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Morat, who most recently renewed their recording contract with Universal Music Spain, is currently on tour while also working on a new album, which will follow last year’s A Dónde Vamos? as well as their Latin Grammy-nominated 2018 LP Balas Perdidas.

The Latin Recording Academy has announced additional performers set to take the stage for the 22nd annual Latin Grammy Awards on November 18 in Las Vegas, with the 64-year-old Cuban singer and four-time Latin Grammy winner among those on the list.

Making her return to the Latin Grammys stage after more than a decade, Estefan — accompanied by Anitta, Carlinhos Brown, Laércio da Costa, Pedro Capó, Farina, Giulia Be and Diego Torres — will open the Latin Grammys with a three-song medley, including her iconic song “Abriendo Puertas,” along with “Cuando Hay Amor” and “Magalenha.”

Additionally, Ángela Aguilar, Pepe Aguilar, María Becerra, Eladio Carrión, Silvestre Dangond, Emmanuel, Joss Favela, Evaluna Montaner, Ricardo Montaner, Fito Páez, Residente, Sofía Reyes, among others, have joined the broadcast as presenters.

The new group of artists join previously announced performers Mon Laferte, Grupo Firme, Bad Bunny, Banda El Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga, Rubén Blades, C. Tangana, Calibre 50, Los Dos Carnales, Alejandro Fernández, Juanes, Maná, Ozuna, Danna Paola and Myke Towers, among others.

Five-time nominee C. Tangana is set to perform alongside Antonio Carmona, Diego del Morao, Jorge Drexler, Israel Fernández, La Húngara, Natalia Lafourcade and Omar Apollo. Meanwhile, Juanes will perform a new arrangement of Juan Gabriel’s iconic “No Tengo Dinero,” alongside Rubén Albarrán and Meme del Real of Café Tacvba.

With the theme “rediscovering life through music,” the three-hour show will air live on Univision at 8:00 p.m. ET, preceded by a one-hour pre-show starting at 7:00 p.m. ET.

The telecast, live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena, will “invite audiences to rediscover what’s important in life using music as a storyline,” according to a statement from the Latin Recording Academy.

Camilo leads the 2021 Latin Grammys nominees with 10 nods, including nominations in the album, record, and song of the year categories. He’s followed by tropical music icon Juan Luis Guerra with six, Spanish rapper Tangana with five nominations, and multiple artists, including Bad Bunny, with four.

Estefan is nominated this year for Best Contemporary Tropical Album for her samba-flavored album Brazil305.

Gloria Trevi Among New Wave of Artists Added to Performance Roster at This Year’s Latin Grammys

The Latin Recording Academy has announced additional performers set to take the stage for the 22nd annual Latin Grammy Awards on November 18 in Las Vegas, with the 53-year-old Mexican singer making the list.

In addition to Trevi, who released the singles “Nos Volvimos Locos” featuring Guaynaa and “Mudanza de Hormiga” with María León this year, the new wave of artists includes current and past Latin Grammy nominees like Descemer Bueno, Camilo, Julio Reyes Copello, DJ Nelson, Sergio George, Gente de Zona, Grupo Firme, Mon Laferte, Jay Wheeler and Yotuel.

Laferte and Trevi will join La Arrolladora Banda El Limón de René Camacho and a mariachi for a medley, including “La Mujer,” nominated for best pop song.

Descemer Bueno, Gente de Zona and Yotuel will take the stage for an acoustic rendition of “Patria y Vida,” which is up for both song of the year and best urban song.

The Latin Recording Academy has announced a new wave of artists set to perform at the 2021 Latin Grammys on November 18, with the 27-year-old Puerto Rican superstar making the list.

Bad Bunny, a four-time nominee this year, joins a roster of performers that includes Pablo Alborán, Alejandro Fernández, Maná, Juanes, and Myke Towers.

They join the roster of previously announced performers including Ozuna, Paula Arenas, Nella, Danna Paola, Banda El Recodo De Cruz Lizárraga, Los Dos Carnales, Calibre 50, La Arrolladora Banda El Limón de René Camacho, and Rubén Blades, who will be honored as the Person of the Year.

Danna Paola Teams Up with Morat for New Single “Idiota”

Danna Paola is reuniting with Morat for new music…

The 25-year-old Mexican actress/singer has joined voices once again with the Colombian quartet for their new song “Idiota.”

While not the first time they collaborate, this new song reinforces the bonds that unite Morat with Mexico.

The song, originally composed by Morat, together with Mauricio Rengifo and Andrés Torres, has a rhythmic pattern that resembles dembow, and closely represents the current Latin landscape.

That’s why they reeled in a female voice to complete and effectively narrate the story behind it. It’s a beautiful mix of vocals that perfectly give life to the story adding Danna’s pop fusions.

The lyrics talk about a love that is gone but you can’t forget, and you are trying to get back. It phrases the advice that you have probably given or gotten from your friends: “If you love something, let it go. If it comes back to you, it’s yours forever. If it doesn’t, then it was never meant to be.”

Natti Natasha Among Latin Artists Named Ambassadors for Pandora

Natti Natasha is opening Pandora’s box…

The 34-year-old Dominican singer-songwriter has been appointed an ambassador for jewelry company Pandora.

Natti Natasha joins a roster of new endorsers that includes Sebastián Yatra, Danna Paola and Luísa Sonza.

The four Latin stars, each representing a different Latin American country, are now part of the Pandora squad via their 2021 campaign titled “Beats of Pandora.”

“I feel very proud to be an ambassador for Pandora because it’s a brand that motivates women to shine on their own by way of their style,” says Natti Natasha about the partnership.

Songstress Danna Paola represents Mexico, pop darling Yara represents Colombia and Sonza will serve as ambassador in Brazil.

“Through their voices, these stars express dreams, desires, stories and moments in a Latin woman’s life,” said Martín Pereyra, general manager of Pandora Latin America. “Pandora is part of this marvelous squad, giving voice to the passions of many women via our jewelry. We want more women in Latin America to be part of the Pandora world and thanks to music, we’re one step closer to those women.”

Juanes to Host Star-Studded Christmas Musical Special “Celebremos: Eterna Navidad”

Juanes is getting into the holiday spirit…

The 45-year-old Colombian superstar and his wife Karen Martínez are set to host a star-studded Christmas special that will stream only on Pantaya, according to Billboard.

Titled Celebremos: Eterna Navidad, the musical event — produced by streaming service Lionsgate‘s Pantaya, Universal Music Group, Elefantec Global and Plataforma — will feature performances by Alejandro Fernández, Danna Paola, Gloria Trevi and Los Tigres del Norte, among many others.

“We all need a little extra Christmas cheer this year and what better way to bring people together than by a holiday special featuring joyful music and celebrity fun,” said Mario Almeida, Pantaya vice president of programming, development, and acquisitions. “We are excited to be working with the biggest names in Latinx entertainment and to partner with Pepe Baston’s Elefantec Global, Plataforma and Universal Music Group.”

The holiday special will also include other guests, including actors Aislinn Derbez, Ana De La Reguera, Sebastian Zurita and Ricardo O’Farrill, and renowned chefs Benito Molina and Solange Muris.

Celebremos: Eterna Navidad premieres December 4 on Pantaya and can be streamed across the U.S., including Puerto Rico.

The 25-year-old Mexican singer/actress has joined voices with two of Latin music’s hottest up-and-coming artists for her new single “Friend de Semana.”

In collaboration with Brazil’s Luisa Sonza and Spain’s Aitana, Danna Paola dropped the playful and catchy reggaeton-meets-cumbia track perfect for any friends with benefits.

“Quiero bailar contigo este fin de semana / I just wanna see you pa’ matar la’ gana’ / Ya sabes que te toca entrar por la ventana / Tú no te aguantas, tú no te aguantas,” the powerhouses sing in the flirtatious lyrics.

Natti Natasha to Take Part in Selena Tribute at This Year’s Premios Juventud

Natti Natasha will be honoring a Latina legend…

This year’s Premios Juventud will include a special segment, honoring 25 years of Selena Quintanilla’s music and legacy, with the 33-year-old Dominican singer-songwriter among the artists set to take part.

In addition to Natasha, Selena’s brother and producer of her biggest hits, A.B. Quintanilla III, will participate in the special dedicated to la Reina de la Musica Tejana.

The other artists participating in the Selena tribute include Karol G, Danna Paola, Ally Brooke and Greeicy.

“For me being part of this special was a real honor. She is a woman that after all these years, and everything that has happened, is a legend. I never hard the chance to meet her while she was here but she is an icon, an icon that lasts a lifetime,” Greeicy tells Billboard.

“How amazing is it that she has inspired so many with her music. It was very challenging for me to create the energy and portray her flavors of cumbia. It was a beautifully difficult challenge and it was very special because I learned from her music and I’m going to keep enjoying it with respect and I hope to honor her. To have the privilege to prepare this special with her brother, who knew her, lived with her, and spent her life with her, is very special. It was a hard challenge for me because I felt like I was speaking directly to her. The special is going to be really great, it was beautiful to be able to create it with him, he was wonderful to work with,” she adds.

With 12 nominations, J Balvin leads the 2020 Premios Juventud, followed by Karol G, Bad Bunny and Anuel AA.

Confirmed performers include CNCO, Ozuna, Natanael Cano, Pitbull and Gloria Trevi, to name a few.

Following all the safety guidelines, PJ 2020, broadcasting live from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, will feature artists performing at the venue, a virtual audience, an innovative integration of the latest state-of-the-art, augmented and virtual reality technologies for award presentations, intros and musical performances.

Premios Juventud 2020, hosted by Ana Patricia Gámez, Francisca Lachapel, Borja Voces, Sebastian Yatra, and Julissa Calderon, will air at 8:00 pm ET on Thursday, August 13, via Univision, preceded by “PJ Takeover,” a one-hour pre-show hosted by Jomari Goyso and Clarissa Molina and Amara La Negra, beginning at 7:00 pm ET.
