Michael Rivera To Appear in Recurring Role on NBC’s “Law & Order: Organized Crime”

The Latino actor has landed a recurring role opposite Christopher Meloni, Dylan McDermott, Tamara Taylor and Danielle Moné Truitt in NBC’s SVU spinoff series, Law & Order: Organized Crime.

Rivera joins a roster of recurring additions that includes Nicky Torchia and Ibrahim Renno.

In Law & Order: Organized Crime, Elliot Stabler (Meloni) returns to the NYPD to battle organized crime after a devastating personal loss. Stabler will aim to rebuild his life as part of a new elite task force that is taking apart the city’s most powerful criminal syndicates one by one. Meloni also is reprising his role as Stabler on SVU this season. No information about the other Organized Crime characters is being released.

Torchia will play Eli Stabler, the son of Meloni’s Elliot Stabler. Rivera will portray Detective Diego Morales, and. Renno will play Izak Bekher.

Law & Order: Organized Crime was created by Dick Wolf, who will executive produce. Fred Berner directed the first episode.

The series is produced by Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.

The drama will premiere at 10:00 pm on April 1 as part of a crossover with Law & Order: SVU that starts at 9:00 pm.

Rivera booked his first role on Law & Order in 2001 at the age of 12. Since then he has joined the Law & Order cast numerous times, as well as spinoffs Conviction, SVU and Criminal Intent. He also appeared in a fractional role with Meloni on HBO’s Oz.

NBC Renews Manny Montana’s “Good Girls” for Fourth Season

NBC has ordered a fourth season of Good Girls, featuring the 36-year-old Mexican actor in the supporting cast.

Hailing from creator Jenna BansGood Girls, whose third season was cut short by the coronavirus pandemic and resulting production shutdown, has done well ratings-wise. 

The series averaged a 0.9 rating in adults 18-49 and 3.4 million viewers overall in L+7 Nielsens, with the show’s February 16 season premiere growing to a 3.3 rating in 18-49 and 7.8 million viewers with digital and linear viewing recorded to date. Digital 18-49 viewership also grew this season versus last by 50%, making it NBC’s #2 show this season on digital platforms.

Written and executive produced by Bans, Good Girlsstars Christina Hendricks, Retta and Mae Whitman as three suburban moms who get tired of trying to make ends meet and decide it’s time to stick up for themselves by robbing the local grocery store. But when the manager catches a glimpse of one of them and the loot is far more than they expected, it doesn’t take long for the three best friends to realize the perfect getaway will be harder than they think.

In addition to Montana, who portrays Rio, the cast also includes Reno WilsonLidya JewettIsaiah Stannard and Matthew Lillard.

Montana previously starred on television in Rosewood, Graceland and Conviction.

Braga to Co-Star in ABC’s Drama Pilot “Las Reinas”

The 66-year-old Brazilian actress has been cast in ABC’s drama pilot Las Reinas in a co-starring role.

Penned by feature writer Dean Georgaris, Las Reinas centers on Detective Sonya De La Reina, who is forced to confront her past when a case compels her to reconnect with her estranged family – the most powerful criminal outfit in Miami. Thrust back into the world she thought she had left behind, Sonya must walk the murky line between the law and her family, and question her true destiny as a De La Reina.

Braga will portray Sonya’s grandmother Gabriella De La Reina, the head of one of the most powerful crime syndicates in the world. After her husband was killed, Gabriella took over their small criminal enterprise and turned it into a multi-national, multi-million dollar behemoth of illegal and legal interests. She has it all – except the one thing she wants more than anything: to bring her estranged granddaughter Sonya back into the fold.

Liz Friedlander has been tapped to direct the pilot after co-creating, executive producing and directing the pilot for another Mark Gordon Co./ABC Studios project, the freshman ABC drama series Conviction.

Braga recently co-starred in the feature Aquarius and will next be seen in Wonder and Going Places.

The 33-year-old Latino actor has landed a series regular role on NBC’s drama pilot Good Girls.

Written and executive produced by from The Family creator Jenna Bans, the drama follows three “good girl” suburban wives and mothers who suddenly find themselves in desperate circumstances and decide to stop playing it safe, and risk everything to take their power back.

Montana, who currently appears on ABC’s Conviction, will play Rio, a smart local hustler who recognizes what assets our “good girls” can be to his money laundering business.

The casting is technically in second position to the ABC/ABC Studios freshman drama Conviction, which has not been officially cancelled but is not expected to come back.

Montana, a Graceland alum, recently booked a recurring role on Fox’s sophomore drama Rosewood.

The 33-year-old Latino actor has landed a recurring role on Fox’s drama series Rosewood.

The Miami-set medical procedural follows top private pathologist Dr. Beaumont Rosewood Jr. (Morris Chestnut) and tough-as-nails Detective Annalise Villa (Jaina Lee Ortiz) as they investigate the East Miami Police Department’s most challenging cases.

Montana, best known for his work on USA Network‘s Graceland, will play Marcos Villa, brother of Detective Annalise Villa, who just finished his third tour in the Army. He’s recently returned to Miami but we have yet to find out exactly why he’s there.

Montana, who’s currently a series regular on ABC’s legal drama Conviction, has also appeared on Lucifer, The Following, Power and Grimm.
