Gomez Headlines Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Game Halftime Show

Selena Gomez has returned to her Dallas area roots this Thanksgiving… in a big way.

The 21-year-old half-Mexican singer/actress, a Grand Prarie, Texas native, returned home to headline the Dallas CowboysOakland Raiders halftime show.

Gomez energetically rocked the stage at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium on Thanksgiving day as she performed on behalf of The Salvation Army.

Donning a sexy bodysuit, a fringe leather skirt and a pair of gold gladiator wedges, Gomez kicked off her three-song set with “Like a Champion.

In the middle of performing her current hit “Slow Down“, the former Disney Channel star shed the skirt and revealed a pair of leather hot pants.

Gomez, who was joined by several dancers, cheerleaders and flag bearers, then concluded her set with “Come and Get It“.

All three songs appear on Stars Dance, the singer’s latest chart-topping album.

Charlotte Anderson, the Cowboys executive vice president and chief brand officer, has explained why the team decided to have Gomez perform during the halftime show. Anderson, who is also the first woman chair of the Salvation Army’s National Advisory Board, said that she wanted someone who can inspire a new generation.

“Particularly this year, clearly with Selena Gomez, the whole concept is to mobilize a younger generation,” Anderson explained. “This generation is yards ahead of us in terms of how they communicate. She is the perfect person to go to when you’re trying to reach that generation.”

“If we can inspire people to give and help the Salvation Army, then we can help people one step at a time and really help address significant problems,” she added.

Mars Leads the Pack of All-Star Latino Performers at the Billboard Music Awards

He may not have claimed any trophies, but Bruno Mars still managed to make his mark at this year’s Billboard Music Awards.

Bruno Mars

The 27-year-old part-Puerto Rican singer-songwriter, who was nominated for four awards, kicked off the three-hour show at the MGM Grand Garden Arena with a high-octane performance.

Mars, dressed to the nines as usual, took the stage to perform his latest single “Treasure.”

But Mars wasn’t the only Latino performer of the night…

Selena Gomez performed her catchy single “Come and Get It” on the show.

The song, the first single off the 20-year-old half-Mexican American singer-actress’ upcoming album recently made its way into the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Jennifer Lopez, the night’s best-dressed artist on the red carpet, had the world seeing red…

The 43-year-old Puerto Rican singer/actress busted a move on stage while performing her latest single “Live It Up” alongside Pitbull during the show.

The song, her third single with the Cuban rap superstar, is already generating serious buzz, especially after the release of the official music video for the track.

Miguel, meantime, made a splash at the Billboard Music Awards when he  landed on top of an unsuspecting audience member while taking the stage.

During his performance of his hit single “Adorn”, the 27-year-old half-Mexican American R&B artist jumped and landed his crotch smack on top of a girl in the crowd. Later, he also appeared to kick another girl in the head after jamming out to his hit.

“got caught up in the moment, thank goodness Khyati is okay” Miguel tweeted after his performance.

Last but certainly not least… Christina Aguilera showed off her slimmer physique f while performing at the awards show.

The 32-year-old half-Ecuadorian singer and returning The Voice coach joined Pitbull on stage to perform their song “Feel This Moment” during the show.

Aguilera and Mr. 305 were later joined by A-ha singer Morten Harket. The duo sample A-ha’s “Take On Me” in their hit single.

Gomez Releases Her Official “Come and Get It” Music Video

Selena Gomez is giving you’re the chance to come and get it online…

Following performances of the song at the MTV Movie Awards and Radio Disney Music Awards, the 20-year-old half-Mexican American singer/actress has released the official music video for her latest single “Come and Get It.”

Selena Gomez

In contrast to the Eastern-inspired theme she had in her appearances at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, Dancing with the Stars and Radio Disney Music Awards, Gomez went for a different, tribal feel in the five-minute clip instead.

Despite dropping the Bindi accessory from her ensemble, Gomez is still wild-haired and bare-footed in the clip.

But Gomez kept her flowing dress for the music video, opening the stunning visuals with a black transparent outfit as she lies on the rich blue-green field. Similar to her live performances, she is joined by her crew of back-up dancers as she gyrates in her deep red costume. She then changes into an off-white multi-layered attire that looks stunning against the nature backdrop.

“Come and Get It” ushers in the forthcoming arrival of Gomez’s new album this summer, for which the Spring Breakers star is set to go on a 50-city worldwide tour to promote it.

Gomez Dazzles During Her MTV Movie Awards Performance of “Come and Get It”

Forget Hollywood! Selena Gomez is a Bollywood dream…

The 20-year-old half-Mexican American singer/actress and former Disney Channel star channeled a sexy version of Aladdin’s Princess Jasmine when she performed her brand new single “Come and Get It” on Sunday at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards.

Selena Gomez

Gomez, who debuted the first single from her upcoming album earlier than planned last weekend, dressed in a deep red Bollywood-inspired outfit and gave viewers a taste of Eastern music and dance. Wild-haired and bare-footed, the Spring Breakers star’s performance was a mash up of Arabic, Indian and Thai dancing.

Despite being nervous about performing “Come and Get It” live for the first time, as Gomez revealed during the rehearsals, she managed to shine bright during her song-and-dance number.

Earlier this month, Jason Evigan, who collaborated on Gomez’s new material, said: “I think it’s going to take her to the next level… She’s got some really cool like ethnic influence, kind of tribally dance drums and stuff like that. I kind of feel she’s going to be like a new J.Lo kind of thing.”
