“As If!” Pop-Up to Open in LA to Celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Stacey Dash’s “Clueless”

Stacey Dash’s most iconic movie is coming to life…

With Amy Heckerling’s iconic ’90s romantic comedy Clueless, starring the 53-year-old part-Mexican actress, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the minds behind immersive experiences like Saved by the Max, Good Burger, The Peach Pitand the Breaking Badexperience are opening “As If!” a new pop up that will leave fans of the popular film singing “Rollin’ with the homies” as they are immersed in the world of the film’s fashion-savvy heroine and way existential Cher Horowitz (played by Alicia Silverstone), her BFF Dionne Davenport(Dash) and the gang.

With the help of Paramount Pictures, the new pop up experience will celebrate the movie that made Baldwins and Bettys out of all of us.

The limited-run pop up is set to open on March 31 and continue through May 8 at 7100 Santa Monica Blvd. in Los Angeles.

While sporadically soaking in all of the insta-worthy set recreations, guests can enjoy libations, dine on “Cher-able” bar snacks created by Chef Royce Burkeand shop for merch to avoid being a fashion victim. No word yet on whether there will be time to play “suck and blow” but just make sure you aren’t caught dead in the same outfit as Ambular.

“We are like ‘totally butt crazy in love’ with the chance to bring the world of Cluelessto life,” said Derek Berry, one of the concept’s partners. “It’s truly one of those films that has stood the test of time and cult fandom. With the anniversary quickly approaching there was no better team than ours to honor this beloved teen classic and bring Cher’s world to life. To miss out would have just been way harsh.”

Released in 1995, Clueless was a clever modern take on Jane Austen’s Emmaand starred Silverstone, Dash, Paul Rudd, Donald Faison, Elisa Donovan, Breckin Meyerand Jeremy Sisto. A re-release of the movie is set for May in select theaters across the country.

Danielle Marie Gonzalez to Star in The New Group’s Off Broadway Production “Clueless, The Musical”

Danielle Marie Gonzalez is embracing theCluelesslife…

The half-Spanish actress has joined the cast of The New Group’s upcoming Off Broadway production Clueless, The Musical, based on the 1995 coming-of-age romantic comedy film, which was loosely based on Jane Austen’s 1815 novel Emma, with an updated setting to modern-day Beverly Hills.

The production will be directed by Kristin Hanggi with a book by Amy Heckerling, who wrote and directed the film.

In addition to Gonzalez, who will portray Lucy, the cast includes Dove Cameron in the lead role of Cher, Dave Thomas Brown (as Josh), Ephie Aardema (Tai) and Zurin Villanueva (Dionne) – roles played in the 1995 film by Alicia Silverstone, Paul Rudd, Brittany Murphy and Stacy Dash.

Also in the cast: Lori Alan (Miss Geist/Ms. Stoeger), Sara Andreas (Heather), Gilbert L. Bailey II (Murray), Will Connolly (Travis), Tessa Grady (Amber), L’ogan J’ones (Max), Chris Hoch (Mel, others), Darius Jordan Lee (Sean) and Justin Mortelliti (Christian). Ensemble/swing will include Tiffany Engen, Katie Goffman, Talya Groves, Jeff Kuhr and Brett Thiele.

Clueless, The Musical begins previews on November 20, opens December 11, and runs through January 12 in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center.

Gonzalez’s previous theater credits include the national tours of Saturday Night Fever, Flashdance: The Musical and Rock of Ages.

Dash to Star in Syfy’s “Sharknado: The 4th Awakens”

It’s a new awakening for Stacey Dash…

The 49-year-old part-Mexican American actress and Fox News commentator has been cast in Syfy’s Sharknado: The 4th Awakens.

Dash, best known for starring in the 1995 feature film Clueless and the television series spinoff of the same name, will portray the mayor of Chicago in the fourth installment of the Sharknado series.

Sharknado: The 4th Awakens takes place five years after the East Coast was ravaged in Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! Fin (Ian Ziering) and his family have been blissfully sharknado-free since. But now the shark-infested tornadoes are back. Tara Reid is set to return as April Wexler to reveal the outcome of the fan-voted campaign to determine whether April lives or dies. David Hasselhoff (as Gil Shepard) and Ryan Newman (as Claudia Shepard) will also reprise their Sharknado 3 roles. New additions to the cast are Gary Busey, Tommy Davidson, Imani Hakim, Cody Linley, Masiela Lusha and Cheryl Tiegs.

Anthony C. Ferrante returns to direct an original screenplay written by Thunder Levin.

The next iteration of the Sharknado franchise will premiere on Sunday, July 31.

Dash Signs with CESD Talent Agency

Stacey Dash has new representation…

The 48-year-old part-Mexican American actress has signed with CESD Talent Agency for acting.

Dash, who rose to accalaim as one of the stars of Clueless, has served as a Fox News cultural commentator since last May, but she’s also set to appear in two upcoming movies: the magic-themed thriller Sleight, starring Dulé Hill, and horror film Death House, with Danny Trejo and Robert Englund.

She also signed a deal earlier this year to publish There Goes My Social Life with Regnery Publishing.

Dash continues to be represented by manager Adam Trahan at Silver Fox Entertainment and law firm Shukat Arrow.

Dash to Star in JD Dillard’s Urban Magic Thriller “Sleight”

Stacey Dash has landed the sleightest role…

The 48-year-old part-Mexican American actress, former Clueless star and Fox News contributor has joined the cast of JD Dillard’s Sleight from Diablo Entertainment.

Sleight is an urban magic thriller about a young Los Angeles street magician who is left to take care of his little sister after their mother’s death. He turns to drug dealing to keep a roof over their heads. After he has a run-in with his supplier and his sister is kidnapped, the magician has but no choice but to rely on his exceptional talents.

In addition to Dash, new cast members include Syechelle Gabriel, the 24-year-old part-Mexican American actress who appeared on TNT’s Falling Skies, Sasheer Zamata and Cameron Esposito.

The film stars Dulé Hill, Jacob Latimore and hip-hop artist Tyga.

Production begins this month.

Dash to Publish “There Goes My Social Life” Book via Regnery Publishing

There goes Stacey Dash’s life…

The 48-year-old part-Mexican American actress, former Clueless star and Fox News contributor has signed a deal to publish There Goes My Social Life, Regnery Publishing revealed.

The book, scheduled for publication this summer, will discuss how Dash became a conservative, her upbringing in the South Bronx and her Hollywood career.

In a statement, Dash credited these things for her “strong opinions about the value of a good education, the importance of family, the inanity of political correctness, and the power of personal responsibility.”

Dash has a reputation as one of Hollywood’s most outspoken female conservatives. In 2012, she announced her disappointment in the Barack Obama-led White House, and endorsed Mitt Romney for president on Twitter, receiving enormous backlash from the movie and music industries.

More recently, Dash has made news for criticizing Patricia Arquette‘s Oscar acceptance speech championing equal pay for women.

“First of all, Patricia Arquette needs to do her history,” Dash said on an appearance on Fox News. “In 1963, Kennedy passed the equal-pay law. It’s still in effect. I didn’t get the memo that I didn’t have any rights.”

She criticized the controversy over the lack of diversity in this year’s Academy Awards nominees and the snubbing of Selma in the acting and directing categories.

“I do know that if it were something conservative and there were not any black people in the audience or on the stage getting awards, there would be a lot of problems. [It’s a] double standard. They’re hypocrites.”

Regnery Publishing has had success publishing conservative females, including Phyllis Schlafly, Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin. Dash is the first actress to secure a book deal with the company.

Menendez to Direct Lifetime’s “The Brittany Murphy Story”

Joe Menendez is preparing to tell Brittany Murphy’s story…

The 45-year-old Cuban American filmmaker has been tapped to direct Lifetime’s two-hour biopic about the life and death of the late actress.

Titled The Brittany Murphy Story, it stars Amanda Fuller in the titular role and Sherilyn Fenn as her mother, Sharon Murphy. The script was penned by Peter Hunziker and Cynthia Riddle.

The biopic will cover her younger years when she was struggling to break into acting in the ’80s and ’90s until her death and the aftermath as there was speculation that her death was not accidental.

The film’s logline reads, “The relentless rumors and paparazzi coupled with Brittany’s insecurities about her appearance and desperation for approval wreaked havoc in her personal life. Through it all, Sharon remained her grounding force but her enduring love wasn’t enough to save Brittany from the dark side of life in Hollywood.”

Sharon, however, was not consulted for the movie and did not cooperate with production in any way, a spokesperson for Brittany’s mother says.

Brittany rose to fame through her role in 1995’s teen comedy Clueless. She died December 20, 2009 at 32 years old. The coroner ruled that she died from pneumonia with iron-deficiency anemia and multiple drug intoxication as secondary factors. On May 23, 2010, her widower Simon Monjack died of acute pneumonia and severe anemia too.

The biopic is scheduled to debut on Saturday, September 6 at 8:00 pm.

Menendez previously directed the Spanish films Ladron que roba a ladron and Quiero ser fiel.

Dash Joins Fox News Channel as a Contributor

Stacey Dash is ready to speak her mind on Fox News…

The 47-year-old part-Mexican American actress, best known for starring opposite Alicia Silverstone in Clueless, has landed a permanent gig on Fox News Channel.

Dash joins the news channel as a paid contributor, offering cultural analysis and commentary on various daytime and primetime programs.

“Stacey is an engaging conversationalist whose distinctive viewpoints among her Hollywood peers have spawned national debates,” says Bill Shine, network executive vice president of news. “We’re pleased to have her join Fox News.”

She joins a list of contributors that includes Karl Rove, James Carville, George Will, Dennis Miller and Sarah Palin.

Dash was criticized in the black community for endorsing Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney instead of Democrat Barack Obama in the 2012 presidential election.

She has guest starred on The Game and most recently The Exes. She also starred in the first season of VH1‘s original series Single Ladies.
