Francia Raisa is heading back to the small screen in January…

Hulu’s How I Met Your Mother spinoff How I Met Your Father, featuring the 33-year-old Mexican & Honduran American actress, will premiere on January 18, 2022.

How I Met Your Father, Francia RaisaThe news was announced in a video (above) featuring series stars Hilary Duff, Raisa, Suraj Sharma, Tien Tran, Chris Lowell, and Tom Ainsley.

In How I Met Your Father, written by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, in the near future, Sophie (Duff) is telling her son the story of how she met his father: a story that catapults us back to the year 2021 where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends – Jesse (Lowell), Valentina (Raisa), Charlie (Ainsley), Ellen (Tran) and Sid (Sharma) —  are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.

Francia Raisa (grown-ish) will play Sophie’s roommate/bestie Valentina. She is an aspiring stylist. She is impulsive and adventurous and Sophie relies on Valentina’s ability to cheer her up when she gets down. In the pilot, Valentina has just returned from London Fashion Week with the gorgeous, British Charlie.

Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall also forms part of the cast in the role of Duff’s Sophie in the future, who is telling her son the story of how she met his father, much like Josh Radnor (and Bob Saget’s) Ted Mosby did in the original series.

Other recurring cast includes Daniel Augustin, Ashley Reyes, and Josh Peck.

Angelica Maria to Star in Epix’s Original Series “Graves”

Things are looking grave for Angélica María

The 70-year-old Mexican-American actress and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter has been cast opposite Nick Nolte and Susan Sarandon in the Epix original series Graves.

Angélica María

The single-camera half-hour political satire produced by Lionsgate also stars Pitch Perfect’s Skylar Astin and Chris Lowell (Veronica Mars).

In Graves, 25 years after his presidency, former Commander in Chief Richard Graves (Nolte) has the epiphany that his policies have damaged the country for decades and so, with his young assistant (Astin), he goes on a Don Quixote-like journey to right his administration’s wrongs just as his wife (Sarandon), the former First Lady, decides to follow her own political ambitions.

María will play Ramona Alvarez, the wry housekeeper who has worked for President Graves since before he was elected and, as a result, grown comically desensitized to the daily dramas unfolding in the Graves household.

Graves was created by Joshua Michael Stern who will write, direct and executive produce the series.

Production is scheduled to begin this fall for premiere on Epix in autumn 2016.

Maria most recently appeared in the film Sea of Dreams.

Cabral’s New Fox Series “Enlisted” Premieres This Week

Angelique Cabral is reporting for duty this coming week…

Fox will launch the 34-year-old part-Latina actress’ new midseason series Enlisted on January 10.

Angelique Cabral

The heartwarming Army-set sitcom centers on three brothers in a unit of misfits on an Army base in Florida. Along with Cabral, the series stars Geoff Stults (The Finder), Chris Lowell (Veronica Mars), Keith David (Platoon) and Parker Young (Suburgatory).

Cabral portrays Sgt. Jill Perez, the leader of another unit on the base — and the only main female character in a series that’s “all dudes,” as she tells the Monterey Herald.

“It’s like a dream role, because this woman is not the pretty girlfriend, or the pregnant wife,” said Cabral. “She’s a sergeant in the Army. She’s her own boss, she’s tough as nails, she’s got a chip on her shoulder, she’s hardcore. It’s a really fun character for me to play.”

But Sgt. Perez is more than that, according to her Enlisted costars.

”Angelique’s character, Jill, has developed, in a weird way, into the fourth Hill Brother,” Stults tells TV Guide magazine, adding, “Man, she’s not going to like that!”

Cabral agrees with her co-star’s assessment.

“Jill kind of adopts the boys. Much like in my real life, she has FOMO – Fear Of Missing Out – so she’s constantly around their platoon, even though she has her own,” teases Cabral, who wed her longtime love last summer.

Cabral’s previous credits include Don’t Trust The B— in Apartment 23, The Glades, Happy Endings and Free Agents.

Enlisted premieres on Friday, January 10 at 9:30 pm ET.

The Launch of Cabral’s New Series “Enlisted” Moved to January

It looks like Angelique Cabral won’t be enlisting until 2014…

Fox has postponed the premiere of Enlisted, which stars the 34-year-old part-Latina actress, to midseason.

The comedy series was originally slated to premiere on Friday, November 8 following Raising Hope.

Instead, the new comedy series will premiere on Friday, January 10 at 9:30/8:30c.

Until then, the network will air back-to-back original episodes of Raising Hope on Fridays starting on November 8. The network hopes to give the new series the benefit of higher viewing levels in January, bolstered by Fox’s winter sports lineup.

The comedy stars Geoff Stults as a military man who has been in combat for several years, but is forced to join his dysfunctional brothers’ (Chris Lowell and Parker Young) squad at a base in Florida.

Cabral, who wed her longtime love this summer, portrays Jill Perez on the series.
