Natti Natasha to Receive Unstoppable Artist Award at Billboard Latin Women in Music Event

The 38-year-old Dominican singer, songwriter, and composer will be honored at the third annual Billboard Latin Women in Music event, Billboard and Telemundo have announced.

The artists join Olga Tañón, Chiquis and Anitta, who were previously announced as honorees for this year.

Hosted by Mexican star Ana Bárbara, the two-hour ceremony will air live exclusively on Telemundo on April 24 at 9:00 pm ET and will celebrate “groundbreaking women shaping the future of Latin music,” according to a press statement.

The show will also stream on the Telemundo app, Universo and Peacock.

Natti Natasha will be honored with the Unstoppable Artist Award, a nod to her sustained influence in the music industry. Natti initially burst onto the Billboard charts when she earned her first No. 1 in 2012 as a featured artist on Don Omar’s hit “Dutty Love.” Since then, she has amassed 34 career entries on the overall Latin Airplay ranking, including 17 top 10 hits, 10 of which soared to No. 1.

On the album front, her debut studio project, Iluminatti, reached new heights in 2019, breaking into the top 10 on both the Top Latin Albums and Latin Rhythm Albums charts, with a peak at No. 3. More recently, her LP Natti Natasha en Amargue, produced by Romeo Santos, earned her a top 10 debut on the Tropical Albums chart.

Mexican American sister-duo Ha*Ash, comprised of Hanna and Ashley, will receive the Unbreakable Award, celebrating the collaboration between Latin women artists who have made an indelible impact on the music industry. Honored for their resilience, innovation and empowerment, Ha*Ash made an impressive debut in 2004, scoring their first top 10 hit on Latin Pop Airplay with “Estés Donde Estés,” which peaked at No. 9.

Over the years, they have proven their staying power, accumulating a total of 16 entries on the chart, four of which reached the top 10. The sisters recently made a notable comeback with “El Cielo Te Mandó Para Mí,” a standout track from Haashville, which reached a No. 7 high on Latin Pop Airplay. Currently, the duo is on their Haashville Tour across the U.S. and Canada.

Meanwhile, Belinda is set to be honored with the Evolution Award, a special honor that recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional growth, transformation, and innovation throughout their artistic journey, and an enduring impact and commitment to evolving their vision and voice. Belinda’s self-titled debut album catapulted her into the spotlight in 2003, earning her a first top 10 entry on a Billboard chart as the set reached a high of No. 6 on the Latin Pop Albums tally.

Since then, she’s had three additional top 10 albums, including Catarsis, which peaked at No. 2 in 2013. Showcasing versatility, Belinda has most recently dabbled in Regional Mexican music, specifically in corridos bélicos, collaborating with the likes of Natanael Cano, Tito Double P and Netón Vega.

Anitta will receive the Vanguard Award, Chiquis the Impact Award and Olga Tañón will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award, with the remaining honors to be announced soon.

Belinda Signs Exclusive Record Deal with Warner Music México

It’s an exclusive for Belinda.

The 33-year-old Spanish-Mexican singer and actress has inked an exclusive record deal with Warner Music México that will represent a new stage in her career 10 years after her last album release.

BelindaThe official signing took place on Monday, August 7 at Warner Music Latina headquarters in Miami Beach, where Belinda was joined by Warner Music México MD Tomas Rodriguez and Warner Music Latina president Alejandro Duque.

“We are honored to welcome Belinda, one of the most important artists in Latin pop music, to our WML family,” Duque expressed in a press statement. “Her undeniable talent, versatility, and dedication to her art make her a unique and exceptional artist. We are excited to accompany her on this new stage of her career, confident that together, we will reach new horizons and make history in her return to music.”

The artist, born Belinda Peregrín Schüll, was only 10 years old when she was cast as the lead in the Mexican children’s telenovela Amigos x Siempre. In addition to her film and TV roles, Belinda has released four studio albums: Belinda (2004), Utopía (2006), Carpe Diem (2010) and Catarsis (2013) — all of which entered the top 10 of Billboard‘s Latin Pop Albums chart. Catarsis, her last set, peaked at No. 4 on the Top Latin Albums chart in 2013.

“Throughout my musical career I have been lucky enough to come across wonderful people but also difficult and unexpected situations that did not allow me to maximize my potential and stop believing,” said Belinda in an Instagram post. “I stopped believing in the industry and companies. Today, years later, I decided to believe again. Believing in myself, in my music, in my career and in a wonderful team, which at a time very different from the one I had to live in the past, is fully committed. Thank you for believing.”

Belinda Launching Her “Catarsis” Tour in Mexico City

Belinda is preparing to launch a high-octane tour to promote her fourth studio album…

The 24-year-old Mexican singer-songwriter says the opening show of her Catarsis tour will be full of “surprises” and special guests.

Belinda is reportedly is working hard to ensure that this Friday’s performance at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City is “very big,” according to Efe.

The spectacle will include a supporting cast of 15 musicians and 30 dancers, with all of the action captured on camera and transmitted to 10 giant television screens, announced Belinda.

Along with singing the material from Catarsis, which was released last month, she plans to perform songs from her three previous albums Belinda, Utopia and Carpe Diem.

Catarsis, which quickly rose to the top of the Latin pop charts in Mexico, the United States, Guatemala, Honduras and the Dominican Republic, features a duet with rapper Pitbull, as well as the dancetastic first single “En El Amor Hay Que Perdonar.”

Belinda Releases Teaser Clip for New Music Video

It looks like Belinda is revving up to release new music in the near future…

The 22-year-old Mexican singer/actress even took to Twitter to release publish a behind-the-scenes look at the taping of the music video for her new single “En El Amor Hay Que Perdonar,” the lead single from her fourth album Catarsis.

Filmed in Acapulco, Mexico, the video shows the bikini-clad singer parading through the jungle at night, dancing on a platform on the beach during the day and walking on the sand with a danerously felinetastic co-star.

In addition, the special video diary shows Belinda—a two-time Latin Grammy Award nominee who has sold more than 3 million copies worldwide—getting all dolled up for the cameras.

Belinda’s new album, Catarsis, is scheduled to be released on September 25, 2012.
