Los Tigres del Norte to Co-Headline First-Ever Bésame Mucho Festival at LA’s Dodger Stadium

Los Tigres del Norte are puckering up

The legendary Mexican norteño band will co-headline the first-ever edition of Bésame Mucho, taking place on Saturday, December 3 at Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium.

The festival featured a head-turning, multigenerational lineup, featuring pop, Regional Mexican, merengue, cumbia and rock artists.

According to the Need Pastel-designed flyer, the Tropicália and La Tocada-organized event will be a one-day festival with three separate stages: Rockero stage, Las Clásicas stage and Te Gusta El Pop? stage.

The fest will also feature sets by Bronco, Banda Machos, Caifanes, Enanitos Verdes, Panteón Rococó, Los Ángeles Azules, Sonora Dinamita, Kabah, Fey and Aleks Syntek with additional headliners to be announced later this year.

Giving When We Were Young vibes featuring a packed lineup, the logistics of how the festival will pan out throughout the day are yet to be outlined by its producers.

But just hours after the event was announced, Latin music fans took to social media to comment on the nostalgia-provoking lineup while also confirming their attendance to a festival that’s 10 months away.

“I’m there,” someone tweeted. “The lineup is absolutely insane,” another Twitter user wrote.

Tickets for the Bésame Mucho festival will go on sale Friday, February 18 at 5:00 pm ET. General admission tickets will start at $199.99 with VIP tickets starting at $324.99.

Goldenvoice has announced the return of Tropicália Music and Taco Festival, with the Mexican rock en español band joining the lineup.

Takin place on November 9 and 10 in Southern California, the two-day festival will feature performances from Caifanes, Los Tigres Del NorteKali Uchis and Chicano Batman at its new location at the Pico Rivero Sports Arena grounds in Los Angeles County.

After two years in Long Beach, the Latin indie music festival will relocate and partner with L.A. Taco. The Los Angeles-based taco-focused website will curate the vendors for the first time, including Teddy’s Red TacosBalam Mexican Kitchen and Triple Threat, with more to be announced.

Venegas to Perfom at Chicago’s Ruido Fest

The 46-year-old Mexican American singer will take the stage at Chicago’s 2017 Ruido Fest.

Venegas, a Grammy and Latin Grammy-winning singer, joins a lineup that includes Cultura Profética and Molotov.

Adding a norteño twist to the alt-rock set of performers is legendary band Intocable, who will perform alongside Alejandro Marcovich, former Caifanes guitarist.

Other bands set to perform include Bomba EstéreoFobia, Duncan Dhu, TitanMon Laferte, Javiera Mena, Alex Anwandter, Adan Jodorowsky and Buscabulla. More artists will be announced in the upcoming months.

The third annual Ruido Fest will take place on July 7-9 at Addams/Medill Park with tickets for the three-day fest on sale now.

“We are very appreciative of the support of the local and international community that have supported,” Ruido Fest founder Max Wagner said in a statement.

“We always are looking to reward the faith that the fans show in us by striving to bring in the best talent, and provide opportunities for artists that don’t receive a lot of chances to perform in this country. Our goal this year, and every year, is to provide the best experience and best value possible for our loyal fans.”

Last year’s performers included Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Panteon RococóCarla MorrisonNatalia LafourcadeAterciopelados and Maldita Vecindad.

Molotov to Headline Next Year’s Vive Latino Festival in Mexico City

The four-time Latin Grammy-winning Mexican rock band is set to headline next year’s Vive Latino in Mexico City.

Taking place March 13-15, 2015 at the Foro Sol, the massive annual festival will also feature Robert Plant, Caifanes, Dave Matthews Band and Brandon Flowers.

The Specials, Babasonicos, Interpol, Happy Mondays, Jorge Drexler, Aterciopelados, Nortec Collective and Garbage are also among the artists announced.

In all, more than 100 acts are scheduled to perform at the festival. The lineup includes Vive Latino’s characteristic mix of groups from Mexican groups and other Latin American countries, as well as other well-known international artists, which this year include Mali’s Tinariwen as well as the announced Anglo bands.

Vive Latino, which last year was expanded to four days, has returned to its three day format. 2015 marks the 16th edition of the festival.

 

Tickets for the massive annual festival went on sale Friday morning (Nov. 28).
