Maurice Compte has new representation…

The Cuban American actor, best known for his role as tough Colombian cop Carillo on the first two seasons of Netflix’s Narcos, has signed with APA (Agency for the Performing Arts) in all areas.

Compte, who stars as Kevin on Mayans MC, has also starred as high-level drug dealer Diego on the hit Starz series Power, and a season-long arc on From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series.

He’s also appeared on Kevin Can WaitThe Last ShipCSI24Burn NoticeLie To MeSouthland and most recently on the CW’s In The Dark.

On the film side, Compte also recently starred in Den Of Thieves opposite Gerard Butler, and appeared in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

USA Network Renews Torres’ “Suits” for a Seventh Season

USA Network has renewed its longest-running original scripted series Suits, starring the 47-year-old Cuban American actress, for a 16-season seventh season for a premiere in 2017.

The news comes just three episodes into the legal drama’s Season 6 run and will push Suits through the 100-episode mark, the fifth USA scripted series to do that after Monk, Burn Notice, Psych and Royal Pains.

Suits, from Universal Cable Prods., continues to be a solid ratings performer, averaging more than 3 million total viewers and 1.1 million P18-49 in Live+3 in its sixth season to date. That is off slightly from Season 5.

The current season focuses on Mike (Patrick J. Adams) facing the tough reality of prison life, with his relationship with his fiancée Rachel (Meghan Markle), and the future of Pearson Specter Litt hanging in the balance. Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty and Rick Hoffman also star.

The series, which airs Wednesdays at 9:00 pm, was created by Aaron Korsh.

TLC to Debut Ochoa’s Series “Tyler Perry’s Too Close To Home” in August

TLC has set August 22 for the premiere of its first scripted series, Tyler Perry’s Too Close To Home, featuring the Cuban-American actor in a recurring role.

Too Close to Home tells the story of a young woman from a modest upbringing who discovers she may have a bright future in Washington D.C.’s fast-paced political scene. When Anna (Danielle Savre) leaves her trailer park home in Alabama in a cloud of dust, she cuts all ties with her family and buries every element of her checkered past. Her friends in Washington think she comes from a wealthy family and know nothing of her real upbringing. Suddenly, the real Anna is exposed when she causes a major political scandal and makes national headlines for her part in an affair with one of the nation’s most powerful players. With nowhere to turn, she’s forced to find sanctuary in the only place she has left – home.

In addition to Ochoa and Savre, the cast includes Brock O’Hurn, Kelly Sullivan, Brad Benedict and Brooke Anne Smith, Alpha Trivette, Trisha Rae Stahl, Robert Craighead, Annie Thrash, Curran Walters, Ashley Love-Mills, Nick Ballard, Charles Justo and Justin Gabriel.

Heather Locklear and Matt Battaglia join the cast as guest stars.

The eight-part drama will kick off with a two-hour premiere at 9:00 pm ET on Monday, August 22.

Ochoa’s other credits include appearances on Burn Notice and Scorpion.

The 33-year-old Mexican American actress has been cast in ABC drama pilot The Death of Eva Sofia Valdez.

From writer Charise Castro Smith and producers Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, the project is described as a sexy revenge drama with a supernatural twist. Hailed as “MacBeth with a Cuban twist,” it centers on Eva Sofia Valdez, an immigrant who rose from rags to riches and is a celebrated Miami entrepreneur and a champion for immigrant rights. But her success is fueled by an insatiable ambition that could destroy her family, a vendetta against the lover who betrayed her, and ghosts from the past who threaten to reveal the dark sacrifices Eva Sofia made to attain the American Dream.

Celaya will play Dominique, a “shadow woman” who mysteriously enters Eva Sofia’s life and although she is ancient, she takes the shape of a younger woman who will cut you or be with you – whatever it takes to lure another desperate soul into her collection.

Celaya most recently starred on the television series Constantine. Her other credits include appearances on Dallas and Burn Notice.

The Cuban-American actor has been cast as a series regular in the ABC drama pilot The Death of Eva Sofia Valdez, a project from writer Charise Castro Smith and producers Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters.

Uriza to Star in FX’s Drama Pilot “Snowfall”

Manuel Uriza is preparing for a white Christmas…

The Latino actor has landed a series regular roles on FX’s drama pilot Snowfall.

Co-created and co-written by the Boyz N The Hood director John Singleton and Eric Amadio and directed by Singleton, the series is set against the infancy of the crack cocaine epidemic in Los Angeles in the 1980s.

Uriza will portray Manuel Villanueva, a cocaine distributor who makes it clear that working for him means doing “bad things,” but he pays well.

Uriza has starred in numerous Spanish language projects including the telenovela Una Maid en Manhattan, which was based on Jennifer Lopez’s hit film Maid in Manhattan.

He most recently appeared on TNT’s Agent X and had a recurring role on FX’s The Bridge opposite Demian Bichir.

His other credits include Magic City and Burn Notice.

Jaramillo to Star Opposite Jennifer Lopez in NBC’s Drama “Shades of Blue”

Antonio Jaramillo is feeling blue

The Mexican actor, who last appeared as Hector on Lifetime’s Devious Maids, has been cast in a recurring role opposite Jennifer Lopez on NBC’s new drama series Shades of Blue.

Directed by Barry Levinson, the police series follows a tight-knit crew of officers who are effective at keeping the streets safe, but also corrupt when it comes to lining their pockets and protecting their own.

When one of the officers is forced to become a federal informant, Lopez’s character must decide between her own family’s welfare and that of her police family.

Jaramillo will play Miguel Zepeda, an ex-boyfriend of Harlee Santos (Lopez).

Best known for his role in Oliver Stone’s drug-themed film Savages, His previous television credits include appearances on Dallas, CSI: Cyber, Gang Related, The Mentalist and Burn Notice.

Chavira to Guest Star on ABC’s Drama Series “Castle”

Ricardo Chavira is getting political… At least on the small screen.

The 43-year-old Mexican American actor has landed a key role on ABC’s drama series Castle.

Chavira, best known for portraying Eva Longoria’s husband on Desperate Housewives, will play Alex Lopez, a popular congressman whose life may in danger.

Chavira will appear in Episode 18, when Detective Ryan — who it was established has been working side jobs — pulls some hours at his brother-in-law Frank’s private security company, which has been charged with protecting Congressman Lopez.

Teasing the Ryan-centric episode, showrunner David Amann told TVLine, “He gets involved in a situation where [he and Frank] are guarding somebody important and an incident occurs, and he is caught in the middle of it.”

Chavira’s post-Desperate Housewives credits include Burn Notice, Welcome to the Family and Bad Teacher.

Castle resumes its season, with Episode 17, on March 16.

Madera to Star in the USA Network’s Drama Pilot “Queen Of The South”

Hemky Madera’s next role is taking him south

The 37-year-old Dominican American actor has landed a role opposite Alice Braga in the USA Network’s drama pilot Queen Of The South.

The project is an English-language adaptation of Telemundo’s blockbuster 2011 telenovela La Reina Del Sur, starring Kate del Castillo.

Based on the best-selling book by Arturo Perez-Reverte, Queen Of The South centers on Teresa Mendoza (Braga), who’s forced to go on the run when her drug-dealing boyfriend is unexpectedly murdered in Mexico. She seeks refuge in America, where she teams with an unlikely figure from her past to bring down the leader of the very drug trafficking ring that has her on the run. In the process, she learns the tools of the trade and strategically positions herself to become the leader of the cartel.

Madera will portray violent cartel henchman Pote Galvez.

His previous credits include appearances on Weeds, New Girl, The New Normal, Burn Notice, Luck and My Name is Earl.

Soria to Appear in Recurring Role on USA Network’s Drama “Complications”

The 28-year-old Latino actor, best known for his role as Private First Class Hector Cruz on the Lifetime series Army Wives, has landed a recurring role on the USA Network’s Complications.

From Burn Notice creator Matt Nix and Fox Television Studios, the drama series centers on John Ellison (portrayed by Jason O’Mara), a disillusioned suburban ER doctor who finds his existence transformed when he intervenes in a drive-by shooting, saving a young boy’s life and killing one of his attackers.

Soria will play Alvarez, a Superior Lieutenant of the Nortenos Locos and a man you simply don’t mess with.

His previous television credits include The Shield, CSI: Miami, Dexter, Sons of Anarchy, Bones and The Closer.
