Eduardo Santamarina is celebrating a global recognition…
The 54-year-old Mexican film, theater and television actor’s Spanish-language drama series Buscando a Frida has won an International Emmy Award.
The series, which aired on Telemundo, won in the Non-English Language U.S. Primetime Program category.
An adaptation of the Chilean telenovela titled ¿Dónde está Elisa? created by Pablo Illanes, the series stars Santamarina, Ximena Herrera and Arap Bethke.
The series revolves around the Pons family and how their lives suddenly changed when their daughter, Frida, mysteriously disappears on the night of her father’s birthday party. During the investigation lies, resentments, and secrets will come out, turning everyone into suspects and unmasking a family that is far from perfect.
“Television around the world has really come of age,” International Academy President & CEO Bruce Paisner said. “What is especially gratifying on this 50th anniversary is seeing the number of countries globally which produce world-class television programs and personalities, and win Emmys.”
