Nicholas Alexander Chavez to Star in the Psychological Thriller “The Technique”

Nicholas Alexander Chavez has a new technique

The 25-year-old Latino Daytime Emmy-winning actor will star in the psychological thriller The Technique.

Nicholas Alexander ChavezChaves will star opposite half-Spanish actress Noomi Rapace, Kelsey Asbille, Ben Platt, Emma Roberts and Laura Harrier in the film.

It’s the feature directorial debut of Brian McGreevy, who wrote an original script. Plot details are being kept under wraps.

Miles Skinner of Hypothesis and Andrea Bucko of Raised By Wolves are producing alongside Jordan Drake, David Duque-Estrada, Chadd Harbold, and Russ Posternak.

Raised By Wolves is financing the film.

This marks the first feature film primarily packaged and produced by Miles Skinner and Zak Williams’ development and production company, Hypothesis.

Chavez most recently starred in the crime drama series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story and priest Charlie Mayhew in the horror series Grotesquerie, both co-created by Ryan Murphy in 2024.

He played Spencer Cassadine on the ABC soap opera General Hospital from 2021 to 2024, for which he won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Performer in a Drama Series.

Rapace gained international recognition for her portrayal of Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish film adaptations of Stieg Larsson‘s Millennium trilogy. The trilogy includes The Girl with the Dragon TattooThe Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest. Rapace has also appeared in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and Prometheus.

The Latino actor has landed a recurring role in AMC’s upcoming drama series The Son.

Based on the book by Philipp Meyer and penned by Meyer, Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy, The Son is a multi-generational epic tale of the story of America’s birth as a superpower through the bloody rise and fall of one Texas family.

Uriza will play Aniceto Pizana, a charming revolutionary in the mold of Che Guevera.

Uriza’s credits include a recurring role in AMC’s Better Call Saul, as well as stints on The Bridge and Castle.

Bardem to Star in AMC’s “The Son”

The 53-year-old Spanish actor has joined the cast of AMC’s The Son

Based on Philipp Meyer’s acclaimed novel, the film is a multi-generational epic telling of the story of America’s birth as a superpower through the bloody rise and fall of one Texas family.

Production will begin in Austin, Texas in June and the 10 one-hour episodes are set to premiere in 2017.

British director Tom Harper is helming the pilot.

He’ll play the patriarch whose family is the last of the wealthy Spanish aristocracy in South Texas. He’s a proud American, but must walk a careful line between his fellow ranchers and the Mexican radicals who employ terrorist tactics in an effort to drive the Anglos out of the Rio Grande Valley.

Bardem, the brother of Javier Bardem, recently completed work on New Regency’s Assassin’s Creed alongside Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard, out later this year.

His past credits include Escobar: Paradise Lost opposite Benicio del Toro and Josh Hutcherson, Che: Part 2 for director Steven Soderbergh, and Scorpion In Love, which he wrote and starred in.

Meyer, Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy wrote the adaptation.
