Following his star-making run on Dancing with the Stars, William Levy is experiencing a massive career boom in Hollywood… And, now he’s locked-in his next project.
The 31-year-old Cuban-American telenovela superstar—who guest-starred on VH1’s Single Ladies earlier this year, in his first acting role on an English-language television series—is starring in the western-action-drama film Boom Town.
“I love Boom Town because it’s a love story between a love and a woman; [also] a story about the unbreakable bond between a father and his little girl,” said Levy. “And it’s the story of an everyday man stepping up and becoming a hero, something all of us as children dream of becoming one day” concludes the Latin dancing sensation.
Produced by award-winning screenwriter Oscar Torres and written by Christian Sesma, Boom Town tells the story of a savvy businessman (Levy) in the early 1900s, who becomes the target of a corrupt border town sheriff and a notorious land boss after they discover that he’s sitting on a fortune. But this unassuming young man might be more of a hustler than anyone knows.
“The men will love the action and the women the charm and talent that someone like William Levy brings to the big- screen,” proclaims Torres.
Along with Levy, the film will star Alfred Molina, Chris Cooper and Danny Trejo.
Boom Town, currently in pre-production, is slated for a summer 2013 release.
