Raúl Castillo to Lead the Cast of William Atticus Parker’s Suspense Sci-Fi Tale “The Auction”

The 46-year-old Mexican American actor will star as the lead in William Atticus Parker’s third film, The Auction.

The film is set at the Aztec Corp., a company that auctions off ancient antiquities and semi-distinct wild exotic animals.

Castillo will portray the newest sales representative, David Valdez, with Ben Vereen appearing as his father and K. Todd Freeman as the head of the corporation.

The previously announced cast also includes Audra McDonald, Mary-Louise Parker and Richard Kind. Details about their specific roles aren’t being released yet.

Castillo will next be seen in Paramount’s upcoming Smile 2 and alongside Mark Ruffalo in HBO’s untitled Brad Ingelsby series.

He’s known for movies including Steven Soderbergh’s Cold Wallet, Amazon’s Cassandro opposite Gael Garia BernalArmy of the DeadCha Cha Real Smooth and A24’s The Inspection, as well as TV series including HBO’s Looking, Starz’s Vida and Netflix’s Atypical.

Agatha Christie’s book And Then There Were None is one of the world’s best-selling mystery novels, and it has been adapted multiple times for big and small screen.

Martin Sheen to Take Part in The People Concern’s Homelessness-Themed Virtual Fundraiser

Martin Sheen is shining a spotlight on homelessness…

The People Concern, one of Los Angeles’s largest housing and social services agencies, will hold a virtual fundraiser this Friday, June 4, featuring the 80-year-old half-Spanish American actor, to help benefit homeless Angelenos and other local human right causes.

The live, online charity event will be hosted by Emmy-winning actress Jane Lynch.

In addition to Sheen, the program will feature special guest appearances by  Ben Vereen, Marianne Jean-Baptiste and James Beard Award-winning chef Roy Choi.

The People Concern CEO John Maceri expressed the urgency of combatting homelessness in this critical time.

“We’re deeply grateful to our friends and supporters in the entertainment community who are shining a spotlight on the urgent need for all of us to step up and help the 66,000 experiencing homelessness here in LA, the largest unsheltered group in the country. The power of your voice has global impact and we urge more of you reach out and work with us, together we can make sure LA is the blueprint for the rest of the country solving homelessness with permanent, supportive housing. This is your Dunkirk moment,” Maceri said.

Maceri believes with eviction moratoriums coming up in June, Los Angeles is facing a “tsunami of homelessness,” with as many as 370,000 in LA alone at risk.

Santino Fontana to Perform During Broadway “Show of Titles” Musical Event to Benefit The Actors Fund

The 39-year-old part-Spanish America actor will perform at Show of Titles, a special livestreamed musical event next month benefiting The Actors Fund.

Fontana joins a lineup of nearly 30 stars – from Glenn ClosePatti LuPone, Darren Criss, Kelsey Grammar and David Alan Grier to Jake Gyllenhaal, Joshua Henry and Phillipa Soo – who will perform title songs from more than 20 musicals.

The event will feature title songs of Broadway musicals spanning nine decades, from “Lady Be Good” to “The Light in the Piazza.”

The line-up also includes Annaleigh Ashford, Len Cariou, Isabelle Huppert, Norm Lewis, Rob McClure, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Melba Moore, Jessie Mueller, Eva Noblezada, Kelli O’Hara, Laura Osnes, Steven Pasquale, Michael Rupert, Ernie Sabella, Lea Salonga, Will Swenson, Aaron Tveit, Leslie Uggams, Vanessa Williams and Patrick Wilson.

Making special appearances will be Broadway Inspirational Voices, Candice Bergen, Danny Burstein, Bryan Cranston, Sheldon Harnick, John Kander, Angela Lansbury, John Lithgow, Lindsay Mendez, Phylicia Rashad, Ben Vereen, BD Wong and Florian Zeller.

Conceived by Broadway’s Best Shows producer Jeffrey RichardsShow of Titles will be directed by Lonny Price, with music direction by Jason Howland, and livestreamed on June 8, 8:00 pm ET on Stellar for a limited time only.

Tickets went on sale May 17 for $29 ($39 starting May 21), with all sales donated to The Actor’s Fund.

Perez and the gang performed their charity single “What the World Needs Now is Love as a tribute to victims of gun violence during the D.N.C. on Wednesday (July 27).

Performers included Ben VereenDarren Criss, Brian Stokes Mitchell, with each getting a chance to sing the classic song written by Hal David and Burt Bacharach, inciting the audience to join arms and sing along in unity.

The joyous performance also included Kristen Bell, Debra Messing, Richard Kind and Stephanie J. Block, Tyne Daly and more.

Fox to Broadcast Justice’s “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” in October

It will be a Rocky Halloween for Victoria Justice

Fox will air its remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, starring the 23-year-old half-Puerto Rican actress/singer, in October. A specific date was not announced.

A re-imagining of the original movie, the two-hour event follows sweethearts Janet Weiss (Justice) and Brad Majors (Ryan McCartan), who stumble upon the bizarre abode of Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Laverne Cox), a sexually ambiguous, flirtatious alien mad scientist. She’s holding an annual Transylvanian science convention to showcase the birth of Rocky Horror – a fit, attractive man (Staz Nair) created solely to fulfill Frank’s desires.

The cast also includes Adam Lambert (Eddie), Reeve Carney (Riff Raff), Annaleigh Ashford (Columbia), Christina Milian (Magenta), Ivy Levan (Usherette), Ben Vereen (Dr. Everett Scott) and Tim Curry, the original Frank-N-Furter, as the show’s Criminologist Narrator.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is executive produced by original Rocky Horror EP Lou Adler, along with Gail Berman and Kenny Ortega.
