Bündchen Named the New Face of Chanel No. 5

It’s a scentsational new endorsement deal for Gisele Bündchen

The 33-year-old Brazilian supermodel has been selected as the new face of the iconic scent Chanel No. 5, according to the French fashion house.

Bündchen will star in the company’s new beauty advertising campaign, which is set to be released later this year. The campaign will be directed by Baz Luhrmann, who also directed the 2004 commercial starring Nicole Kidman.

Audrey Tautou and Brad Pitt have also fronted for the famed fragrance.

Chanel No5 was the first perfume launched by French couturier Gabrielle “Coco ” Chanel.

It’s the latest endorsement deal for Bündchen. She’s currently a brand ambassador for Pantene and H&M.

Cuarón’s “Gravity” Nominated for Three Australian Academy Arts Awards

Alfonso Cuarón’s gravity-defying awards season continues with some big-time recognition Down Under

The 52-year-old Mexican director’s latest film, the Sandra Bullock-starrer Gravity, has received three AACTA Award nominations from the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts.

Cuarón is nominated in the AACTA International Award for Best Direction category for helming the blockbuster-hit 3D sci-fi thriller.

He’s up against Steve McQueen (12 Years a Slave), David O. Russell (American Hustle), Paul Greengrass (Captain Phillips) and Baz Luhrmann (The Great Gatsby).

Gravity is also nominated in the AACTA International Award for Best Film category, where it faces-off against 12 Years a Slave, American Hustle, Captain Phillips and Ron Howard’s Formula One drama Rush.

The AACTA International Awards will be held in Los Angeles on January 10th, 2014.

Dorado Signs with William Morris Endeavor

Jorge Dorado’s future looks bright in Hollywood…

The 36-year-old Spanish filmmaker and emerging talent signed on with noted talent agency William Morris Endeavor (WME) during this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Dorado, who began his career working as an assistant director with the likes of Pedro Almodóvar, Baz Luhrmann and Guillermo del Toro, made his feature directing debut with the psychological thriller Mindscape for Studio Canal.

The film, starring Mark Strong, Brian Cox and Taissa Farmiga, centers on a detective with the ability to enter peoples’ memories (Strong) who takes on the case of a brilliant, troubled, but dangerous 16-year-old girl, Anna (Farmiga), to determine if she’s a sociopath or a victim of trauma.

The film is scheduled for a fall 2013 release.

Dorado has directed several award-winning shorts including the Goya Award-nominated La guerra, which won 47 awards at festivals throughout the world.
