Jesse & Joy Release Heartbreaking Video for New Single “Dueles”

The Mexican Latin Grammy-winning duo, comprised of siblings Jesse Eduardo Huerta and Tirzah Joy Huerta, have released the official music video for their latest single “Dueles.”

Jesse & Joy premiered the short film, which was directed by Lior Molcho, on Tuesday (July 5).

It tells the heartbreaking story of a woman who gets diagnosed with a brain tumor. Jesse, who plays the boyfriend, will do anything to get the money he needs to pay for the expensive surgery his girlfriend needs.

Jesse & Joy are confirmed to perform at Premios Juventud on July 14 held at the BankUnited Center in Miami.

The awards ceremony, hosted by Becky G, will also include other performances by Gente de ZonaPitbullEnrique Iglesias and Leslie Grace.

Nicky Jam to Speak at Songwriter Q&A During This Year’s Billboard Latin Music Conference

The 34-year-old Puerto Rican and Dominican American singer-songwriter, boasting back-to-back singles on the Top 5 of Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, has been confirmed for the Songwriter Q&A during this year’s Billboard Latin Music Conference in Miami.

Presented by Jorge Mejia’s Sony/ATV, the “Songwriter Q&A,” now in its third year, features hitmakers at the peak of their careers.

Nicky Jam, whose song “El Perdón” with Enrique Iglesias became the second-longest running track ever at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, will discuss his career, his hits and his songwriting strategy in a conversation with Leila Cobo, Bilboard’s executive director of Latin content and programming.

Nicky Jam is a finalist for eleven Billboard Latin Music Awards including Artist of the Year. His song “El Perdón” with Iglesias vies for five additional awards including Hot Latin Song of the Year, Hot Latin Song of the Year, Vocal Event and Airplay Song of the Year.

Nicky Jam & Enrique Iglesias’ “El Perdón” spent 30 weeks atop the Hot Latin Songs chart (it peaked on March 21, 2015), becoming the second-longest running No. 1 ever on the chart. His latest single “Hasta El Amanecer” is currently No. 3 on Hot Latin Songs.

The 29-year-old Colombian reggaeton singer, a 12-time finalist this year due in large part to his breakout hit, “6 a.m.,” has been revealed as one of the performers for the awards show, airing live on Telemundo on April 30.

J Balvin, who will contend for Artist of the Year, will join top-tier artists from every genre, who will grace the stage of the BankUnited Center in Miami Fla., including reggaeton pioneer Daddy Yankee — who holds the record for most top 10’s on the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart with 30 songs — and fellow urban music leader Wisin, who is up for four awards this year for his chart-blazing work as a solo artist on El Regreso del Sobreviviente.

Carlos Vives, Mexican songstress Ana Gabriel, who has 20 top 10s on the Hot Latin Songs chart (the third-most top 10s for a female singer after Gloria Estefan and Shakira), and Lucero will also perform.

On the regional Mexican end, powerhouse Julion Alvarez y su Norteño Banda, up for six awards this year, is one of the confirmed acts.

The Billboard Latin Music Awards honor the most popular albums, songs, and performers in Latin music, as determined by the actual sales, radio airplay, streaming and social data that informs Billboard’s weekly charts during a one-year period from the issue dated Feb. 1, 2014 through this year’s Jan. 31, 2015 issue.

J Balvin to Take Part in the “Billboard En Vivo” Concert Series

The 29-year-old Colombian reggaeton singer will take center stage when Billboard launches the Billboard En Vivo tour.

The new concert series will visit intimate venues in five cities this April and feature live acoustic performances by rising the Latin rhythm artist, as well as Bachata sensation Prince Royce and Salsa singer-songwriter Victor Manuelle, all of whom are Billboard Latin Music Awards finalists.

The Billboard En Vivo tour will begin on April 3 in New York City, and visits Chicago (April 7), L.A. (April 15), Houston (April 22) before wrapping up April 29 in Miami.

The concerts are a warm-up for the Billboard Latin Music Awards, which take place April 30 from the BankUnited Center in Miami.

“The Billboard En Vivo concert series demonstrates Billboard’s continued commitment to the evolving Latin market,” comments Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media‘s Entertainment Group, which consists of Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter. “As Latin musicians continue to build mainstream momentum, Billboard is bringing together hundreds of passionate music fans for a series of special moments leading up to one of our biggest nights, the Billboard Latin Music Awards.”

Telemundo is the official broadcast and digital distribution partner for Billboard En Vivo and the network will air the Billboard Latin Music Awards live at 8:00 pm EST on the big night.

Anthony to Perform at the Billboard Latin Music Awards

Marc Anthony won’t just be a favorite at this year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards, he’ll also be a performer.

The 45-year-old Puerto Rican singer-songwriter, the biggest selling tropical salsa artist of all time, has joined the star-studded list of performers at this year’s upcoming awards ceremony, which includes recent additions Prince Royce and Franco de Vita.

The Grammy- and Latin-Grammy winning artist has reached the No. 1 spot on the Tropical Airplay chart 23 times, and has eight No. 1s on the Top Latin Albums chart.

The 15-time finalist last year chose the Billboard Latin Music Awards stage for the worldwide premiere of “Vivir Mi Vida,” which spent 17 weeks at the top of the Hot Latin Songs chart and became his eighth No.1 hit.

Anthony, Prince Royce and de Vita join previously announced performers Laura Pausini, Ricky Martin, David Bisbal, Juanes, Luis Fonsi, La Arrolladora Banda El Limon De Rene Camacho, Banda El Recodo De Cruz Lizárraga and 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Andrea Bocelli.

The Billboard Latin Music Awards, the longest-running Latin music awards show, will be broadcast live on Telemundo, Thursday, April 24 at &:00pm ET from the BankUnited Center at the University of Miami.

Juanes to Perform at the Billboard Latin Music Awards

Juanes will be bringing La Luz to a Billboard stage…

The 41-year-old Colombian musician will perform at the 2014 Billboard Latin Music Awards.

Other confirmed performers include Laura Pausini, David Bisbal and La Arrolladora Banda El Limon De Rene Camacho.

Juanes will appear at the ceremony in the wake of the March 11 release of his widely anticipated and critically lauded album Loco de Amor. His single “La Luz” leapt to the top of Billboard Latin Airplay chart earlier in the month, securing his ninth No. 1 on the chart.

Juanes has placed eight songs atop the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart, including “Me Enamora,” which spent 20 weeks at the top of the chart. He has reached No. 1 with four albums on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart.

The Billboard Latin Music Awards will be produced and broadcast live by Telemundo on Thursday, April 24 at 7:00 pm ET from the BankUnited Center at the University of Miami.

Prince Royce: The Big Winner at the Premios Juventud Awards

Prince Royce has a handful of reasons to celebrate…

The 24-year-old Dominican American singer and La Voz Kids coach was the big winner at the 10th annual Premios Juventud, taking home five awards.

It’s the second year in a row that the Royce has led the pack of winners at the awards show. Last year, he won eight awards, including Voz del momento.

This time around, Royce won in five of the 10 categories where he was nominated, including Red Hot Artist, Catchiest Tune, and My Favorite Video.

Meanwhile, the late Jenni Rivera, who died in a plane crash in December, posthumously earned four awards, including My Regional Mexican Artist and My Ringtone.

Meanwhile Bruno Mars and Mexican duo Jesse & Joy each took home two statuettes from the gala held at Miami’s BankUnited Center.

The show opened on a high note as two-time winner Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull sang a medley of their massive hits including new single “Live It Up” in a performance that ended with the two singers diving into an onstage swimming pool.

Other winners include Sebastián Rulli, Blanca Soto, Shakira and Vicente Fernandez.

Launched 10 years ago as a fan show that aimed at a younger audience, Premios Juventud presents awards in 27 categories in music, film soap operas, sports and pop culture. Winners are decided by popular vote over the Internet.

Martin to Release Spanglish Version of “Come With Me”

Ricky Martin is giving his latest single a little Spanish flair…

The 41-year-old Puerto Rican singer and coach on the recent season of The Voice Australia will be performing a Spanglish version of “Come With Me” at the upcoming Premios Juventud gala, according to his publicist.

Martin, whose new single has risen to the No. 1 spot on radio stations in Australia and Latin America, will sing his Spanglish number on July 18 at Miami’s BankUnited Center.

“Come With Me” marks Martin’s return to recording after his performance in the Broadway revival of Evita and the kudos he earned for his work on Australia’s version of The Voice.

“Come With Me,” was released to online music sites last month, is a collaboration with Ilan Kidron, vocalist of the Potbelleez group.

The four-time Grammy winner has sold more than 70 million albums worldwide.

The Late Rivera Wins Six Trophies at the Billboard Latin Music Awards

She may be gone… But Jenni Rivera has not been forgotten.

The late Mexican American singer, known as la Diva de la Banda, proved to be one of the big winners at the 2013 Billboard Latin Music Awards.

Rivera, whose influence and sales rose in the wake of her tragic death last December in a plane crash in Mexico, won six awards, including Artist of the Year and Regional Mexican Album of the Year for La Gran Señora, which was coincidentally released the week after her death.

Edward James Olmos, Rivera’s Filly Brown co-star, introduced a tribute segment to the singer, pointing out that just a year before, she had herself performed live on the awards stage.

“We want to remember her a little bit differently — as the woman, the friend, the mother, the daughter,” he said, before a video montage focusing mainly on Rivera’s family life and humanitarian work.

Her parents, Pedro Rivera and Rosa Saavedra, and two eldest  daughters, Janney “Chiquis” Marín and Jacqueline Marín, accepted her posthumous awards.

Meanwhile, Don Omar – who performed his current hit, “Zumba” at the show – had garnered 18 finalist nods — a record tied only by Tito El Bambino in 2010 — and took home 10. They include Songs Artist of the Year, Male and Airplay Song of the year for “Dutty Love,” featuring Natty Natasha.  Don Omar also won Streaming Artist of the Year and Streaming Song of the Year for “Danza Kuduro,” featuring Lucenzo.

Prince Royce, the young urban/bachata singer and soon-to-be La Voz Kids coach who has dominated the charts since his debut in 2011, won four awards, including Albums Artist of the Year, Male.

Romeo Santos, Shakira and La Arrolladora Banda el Limón de René Camacho won three awards each, as did Natty Natasha, who is featured in Don Omar’s “Dutty Love.” Teary-eyed, she dedicated her last win to “all Latinos — those who leave their homelands to pursue their dreams.”

This year’s awards featured a series of premiere performances, including Carlos Vives with Michel Teló (who won Song of the Year for his global hit  “Ai Se Eu Te Pego“).

Mexican rockers Maná, who won Albums Artist of the Year, duo or Group and Latin Pop Albums Artist of the Year, Duo or Group, also received the Billboard Spirit of Hope Award for the philanthropic work of their Selva Negra Foundation, which has worked in environmental causes for nearly 20 years.

Lucero to Perform at the Billboard Latin Music Awards

Lucero is preparing to make sweet music for Billboard

The 43-year-old Mexican singer/actress has been added to the list of performers at next month’s 2013 Billboard Latin Music Awards.

Lucero, the star of Univision’s recent hit telenovela Por ella soy Eva, is known as “Mexico’s Sweetheart.” She’s been in the entertainment business for more than three decades and has sold more than 27 million albums worldwide.

But Lucero isn’t the only night’s big performer…

Don Omar, Gerardo Ortiz, Michel Telo and Carlos Vives have also been named as performers at the awards show, which will telecast live from Miami’s BankUnited Center on April 25 on Telemundo at 7:00 pm ET.

Don Omar, the “king of reggaeton,” leads the pack of nominees with 18 nods, including Artist of the Year.

Ortiz, who was discovered on YouTube just a few years ago, has created a musical revolution with his innovative compositions. The host of mun2’s DUB Latino is up for six awards.

Telo, who hails from Brazil, became a global musical sensation last year with his hit “Ai Se Eu Te Pego.” Up for seven awards, Telo made his U.S. debut last year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards.
