Ricardo Arjona to Perform During Upcoming Vegas Latin Summer Beach Fest

Life’s a beach (bash) for Ricardo Arjona.

The 58-year-old Guatemalan singer-songwriter will be among the artists taking part in the first-ever edition of Vegas Latin Summer Beach Fest, presented by 360 Worldwide Entertainment.

The festival will offer a “one-of-a-kind” experience in Las Vegas throughout the spring and summer, according to the company

The concept, dubbed the “Caribbean Edition,” is a concert series composed of 11 shows: nine three-day beach festivals at the Mandalay Bay Beach, and two concerts at the T-Mobile Arena.

“As the company that established the Latin music festival format, we are proud to innovate the live music experience once again,” said Lucas Piña, founder, 360 Worldwide Entertainment. “After an exhausting pandemic, we are again the first to advocate and support our Latin culture in general, providing the city of Las Vegas with a truly enriching cultural experience for its community and tourism,” added the former SBS Entertainment executive who helped conceptualize the company’s marquee events such as Calibash and Miamibash.

The Vegas Latin Summer Beach Fest: Caribbean Edition will “transport you to the beautiful islands of the Caribbean: Cuba, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico through an impressive cultural display,” according to a press release.

The weekend-long festivals at the Mandalay Bay will kick off with Havana Nights (April 15-17) — headlined by Yotuel, Jacob Forever and Osmani García — followed by Dominican Republic Carnaval Nights (May 20-22) and Noches de San Juan (June 17-19).

Artists set to perform at Carnaval and Noches de San Juan will be announced in the upcoming weeks.

The two concerts at the T-Mobile Arena include Arjona — who’ll make a stop there as part of his Blanco y Negro Tour on April 23 — and the July 16 show that will wrap up the series which will “feature 21 artists and special guests.”

“We have been working tirelessly for a long time on this concept, and the vision of offering something different, far from scaring us, invigorates us,” said Camilo Gonzalez, 360 Worldwide Entertainment’s president. “Back in 2007, when the industry said it was impossible to create a rotating stage, Lucas Piña challenged them. Now, we are returning the focus to Latin music genres that also deserve recognition, such as salsa, merengue, bachata, and urban music.”

Romeo Santos Releases Heartfelt New Single “Sus Huellas” on Valentine’s Day

Romeo Santos is bringing the heartbreak this Valentine’s Day…

The 40-year-old Puerto Rican and Dominican American singer, who sold out stadiums with his Aventura reunion tour last year, has officially released his first solo single of the year, “Sus Huellas.”

In true King of Bachata fashion, the track is full of heartfelt and metaphorical lyrics, describing a person who’s trying to forget a past love.

“Before you discover my heart/ I warn you that I have wounds/ That my dark past was a woman/ and now I need to erase her from my life,” Santos sings at the beginning.

“I’m telling her, ‘I need you to help me, help us,’” Santos explains to Billboard. “The subliminal message is that it is absurd for you to ask a person to help you when I am the toxic one. The problem is me. You can’t love anyone if you don’t love yourself first.”

In the music video, Santos meets a new woman and asks for her to help him forget his past relationship.

“Come, rip her footprints from my skin,” he chants. Toward the end, she’s seen digging a scalpel into his skin to help him heal. Santos oozes blue blood instead of red.

“People think blue is for royalty because I’m the king of bachata,” he says, “but the real reason is that I felt that red would look too graphic and I didn’t want this to look like a horror film.”

He opted to release the song on Valentine’s Day and begin a campaign where fans substitute the color red with blue. “It’s a very special song and I think it’s great for the occasion,” he elaborates.

“Sus Huellas” is the first single off of Santos’ upcoming studio album Formula, Vol. 3.

“It’s a special album, and feels like my greatest yet,” he tells Billboard of the new album.

Rosalia Reveals Cover Art for New Album “Motomami,” Announces New Single Release This Week

Rosalia is revvin’ up her next project…

The 28-year-old Spanish Grammy-winning singer and songwriter has officially revealed the cover art for her forthcoming studio album, Motomami.

On Monday, about two months after revealing the album’s title, Rosalia shared an image in which she appears nude, covering her private parts with her hands. She’s rocking high pigtails and a motorcycle helmet. Her name is written in blue pen with the title “Motomami” in red graffiti.

Rosalia also revealed plans to release new music this week.

“Omg here you have the cover of MOTOMAMI and guess what new song is coming this Fridayyyy,” she captioned the photo.

Motomami, set for release this year, follow’s Rosalia’s 2018 Grammy-winning El Mal Querer, which hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Albums chart dated Nov. 16, 2018 and won five Latin Grammys, including album of the year and best contemporary pop vocal album.

“La Fama,” her second collaborative effort with The Weeknd, is the first official track from the upcoming set. The all-Spanish bachata track entered the top 10 on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay chart dated January 29 and marked the first top 10 for each artist on the list. Rosalía previously clocked her fifth top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart as the track hit No. 2 on the November 27-dated survey.

“Rosalía is the type to be very judicious with what she releases,” Rosalía’s manager, Rebeca León, said during a panel at Billboard‘s Latin Music Week. “She’s a writer-producer, so she pays attention to every single detail. She’s not the type to write a song in a day.”

Prince Royce’s “Lao’ a Lao'” Rises to No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay & Tropical Airplay Charts

Fresh off his exclusive Facebook Live performance of “Lao’ a Lao’,” the 32-year-old Dominican American singer conquers the radio airwaves as his latest song jumps 4-1 to lead Billboard’s overall Latin Airplay chart (dated October 30). It concurrently takes over atop Tropical Airplay (2-1).

The bachata track was released August 12 and opened on Latin Airplay at No. 16 on the August 28-dated survey, with 5 million audience impressions earned in the U.S. On the latest chart, it bounds with a 34% gain, to 10.7 million, in the week ending October 24, according to MRC Data. The growth gives Royce his 14th leader and secures the song the week’s greatest gainer honor.

“Lao’ a Lao’” follows Royce’s only other No. 1 on the all-Latin ranking, which arrived more than six months ago: “Hasta Que Salga El Sol,” with Natti Natasha (one week atop the April 17-dated list).

“Lao’ a Lao’” also rebounds to No. 1 on Tropical Airplay to become the radio format’s most-played song for a second week after its August 28 lead. The champ then earned Royce his 21st leader, the third-most, trailing only Marc Anthony’s 34 wins and Victor Manuelle‘s 29.

Beyond its Latin Airplay and Tropical Airplay coronations, “Lao’ a Lao’’” rises35-25 on the all-metric Hot Latin Songs chart.

C. Tangana Teams Up with Nathy Peluso for the Bachata-Infused Track “Ateo”

C. Tangana is celebrating his love for a Dominican genre…

The 31-year-old Spanish rapper has joined voices with Nathy Peluso to release the single “Ateo,” an ode to bachata.

Tangana first explored his love for bachata on “Tu Me Dejaste de Querer,” but now he’s teamed up Peluso for another twist on the genre.

The genre-smashing artists first set the tone for the single’s release with a provocative teaser showcasing their bachata skills that stirred up some controversy. At its core, the track is a love song that narrates a love so pure it makes an atheist believe.

“I was an atheist but I believe now,” they sing. “All it took was for a miracle like you to come down to earth.”

About the song, Peluso said, “I immediately felt it was a classic. And when we worked together at the studio I reconfirmed that same feeling. It’s a project with a marvelous universe and a fantastic video that is truly a piece of art, and a very interesting topic that challenges us all. Long live Romanticism!”

The cinematic film that accompanies the single, shot in Spain’s Toledo Cathedral, marks Tangana’s directorial debut.

Following her acting debut in Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s film adaptation of his Tony Award-winning Broadway musical In The Heights, and in the midst of filming Batgirl, the 26-year-old Dominican America singer/actress has released “Bachatica,” her first solo track in five years.

Dedicated to her loyal fans, Leslie Grace returns to her musical roots in a sensual bachata fused with urban and R&B undertones.

She crafted the song alongside emerging music artists Maye, Musiana, and Eddie Perez.

“I knew this song was a gift and we finished it together that same day,” she expressed on Instagram. “Thank you for sharing your genius with me.” Bringing the song’s romantic lyrics to life, Leslie reeled in her boyfriend Ian Eastwood to appear in the 1920s-inspired music video, which was directed by Jorge G. Camarena.

The 32-year-old Dominican American singer/songwriter has released the new single “Lao’ a Lao’,” in which he wants you to know that no one will love you the way he does.

He also doesn’t need a mansion or a luxurious car, he only needs you.

Co-produced and written by Royce alongside D’lesly “Dice” Lora, George Noriega, Miguel Muñoz and Giovanny Andrés Fernandez Manzu, “Lao’ a Lao'” is a sincere and humble love song à la “Corazon Sin Cara.”

Perfect for a mid-summer anthem, the song is an innovative fusion between hard-hitting reggae beats and an electric bachata melody.

“We are living through challenging times and with ‘Lao’ a Lao’ ‘ I just want people to temporarily disconnect and tune into that light, positive, feel-good frequency,” Royce, a five-time finalist at the 2021 Billboard Latin Music Awards, expressed in a statement.

Luis Fonsi Teams Up with Myke Towers for Catchy Single “Besame”

The 43-year-old Puerto Rican singer has joined voices with Myke Towers for the new single “Besame.”

The single, the first-ever team up for Fonsi and Towers, is a catchy song from beginning to end. It combines reggaeton pop with Dominican bachata.

Co-written by Fonsi, Towers, Andres Torres, Mauricio Rengifo, and Keaton, the song tells the story of a game of seduction and mischief between a man and a woman.

“I know that you are using me for the weekends,” Fonsi said of the lyrics. “But the reality is that it does not bother me. I play your game, but if you want to stay, stay because there is something interesting between us.”

The video was filmed in Miami and directed by Elastic People‘s Carlos Perez.

Overall, “Besame” is a mix of island flavors that will make you want to dance to the melodies and positive vibes.

Juanes Returns to Rocker Roots with New Album “Origen”

Juanes is sharing his origenes story…

The 48-year-old Colombian musician has returned to his rocker roots with the new album Origen.

Beginning with a fast-paced rock ‘n’ roll version of Joe Arroyo’s “Rebelión,” Origen pays homage to the songs that shaped Juanes’ life and career.

The set, produced by Juanes with Sebastian Krys and featuring no loops or samples, is a refreshing sonic journey that includes iconic tracks like Carlos Gardel’s “Volver” –reimagined as a bachata/tango—and unexpected gems like “Todo Hombre Es Una Historia,” originally recorded by Medellín rock band Kraken.

There are also English-language covers: Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing In The Dark,” which morphed into a soft rock ballad, and “Could You Be Loved,” now a syncopated vamp set over a medley of guitars.

Juanes has said that after experimenting with urban beats in his past two albums, Origen is his return to his true self.
