Benita Robledo is celebrating her Dependent’s…
Freestyle Digital Media has picked up the North American rights to Dependent’s Day, a millennial love story starring the Latina actress.
The film explores what happens to men when women are the breadwinners.
Directed by Michael David Lynch, the relationship comedy follows Cam (Joe Burke), an unemployed actor who is claimed as a dependent by his successful girlfriend Alice (Robledo). As he stumbles from one humiliating job to the next, Cam still tries to keep his dream alive as well as his relationship. Will he ever rise to the occasion? Will Alice have the patience to find out?
Lisa Ann Walker, Shannon Lucio, Brian George and Todd Bridges co-star in the film, which won the Audience Award for Comedy at the 2016 Cinequest Film Festival.
An October 18 video on demand launch is planned.
Robledo’s other credits include film appearances in Going the Distance and What Happens in Vegas, as well as television roles in Teen Wolf, Agent Carter and Gossip Girl.
