Maluma to Perform at This Year’s Latin Grammy Awards Show

Maluma will be feelin’ the FIBES

The 29-year-old Colombian singer-songwriter will perform at this year’s Latin Grammy Awards.

MalumaThe “Felices Los 4” singer joins a roster of recently added performers that includes Milo J, Rosalia, Shakira, Sebastian Yatra, Andrea Bocelli and DJ Premier.

They’ll perform at the upcoming ceremony, which will broadcast from FIBES in Seville, Spain, on Thursday, November 16.

The newly announced artists join previously unveiled performers, including Maria BecerraBizarrap, FeidKany GarcíaCarin LeónChristian NodalRauw AlejandroAlejandro Sanz, Pablo AlboránEdgar BarreraCamilo, Manuel Carrasco, IzaJuanes, OzunaEslabon Armado and Peso Pluma.

Additionally, Majo AguilarAnitta, Pedro Capó, Jorge Drexler, Luis Figueroa, Fonseca, Tiago Iorc, Mon LaferteNatalia Lafourcade, John Leguizamo, Nicki Nicole, Carlos PonceCarlos Vives and Yandel join as presenters throughout the ceremony.

For the first time held outside the United States, the annual Latin Grammys will be broadcast from the Conference and Exhibition Centre in Seville, Spain. It will air November 16 on Univision starting at 8:00 pm ET, UniMás and Galavisión in the U.S., and at 10:30 pm CET on Radiotelevisión Española (RTVE) in Spain.

Danna Paola, Yatra, Roselyn Sánchez and Paz Vega will serve as co-hosts.

This year, Mexican hitmaker Edgar Barrera leads the list of nominees with 13 nods, including songwriter of the year, producer of the year and song of the year. Barrera is followed by Colombian stars Camilo, Karol G, Shakira and composer Kevyn Mauricio Cruz (also known as Keityn), each with seven nominations.

Peso Pluma Among Headliners for Next Year’s Tecate Pa’l Norte Festival

Peso Pluma is heading to Monterrey for a special performance next spring…

The 24-year-old Mexican Regional Mexican artist is among the headliners for the next edition of the Tecate Pa’l Norte festival, which has announced the extensive list of international stars that will take the stage the weekend of March 29-31.

As it does every year, Fundidora Park in Monterrey, Nuevo León, in northern Mexico, will host one of the most highly anticipated musical events, where attendees can enjoy genres such as rock, pop, hip-hop and regional Mexican music. 

The first day will feature artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Peso Pluma, Keane, Aleman, Bad Religion, Belanova, Aterciopelados, Bomba Estéreo, Chencho Corleone, Deorro, Los Estrambóticos, Aitana and a large number of emerging groups.

The second day will highlight Blink-182, Louis Tomlinson, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Anitta, Danna Paola, Danny Ocean, Gabito Ballesteros, Latin Mafia, Sum 41, Yng Lvcas, Humbe, Young the Giant, R3hab, Justin Morales and many more.

The last day of the festival will feature Maná, Imagine Dragons, Placebo, Fuerza Regida, Los Enanitos Verdes, Enjambre, Kenia Os, Santa Fe Klan, Álvaro Díaz, Jay de la Cueva, Oscar Maydón, Kinky, The Warning and The Blessed Madonna, in addition to a variety of up-and-coming artists.

Created in 2012 by the entertainment company Apodaca Group, based in Monterrey, Tecate Pa’l Norte was created with the local public in mind, which had to travel to Mexico City to attend these types of musical events. Music, art, gastronomy and northern traditions come together in Tecate Pa’l Norte, considered one of the most important festivals in the country along with Vive Latino and Corona Capital, held in Mexico City by Ocesa.

Cardi B to Participate in TikTok’s Global Live Music Event, “TikTok in The Mix”

The clock is TikTok-ing for an extra special event featuring Cardi B.

The 31-year-old half-Dominican American Grammy-winning rap superstar will take part in TikTok in The Mix, the social media app’s first-ever live global music event for fans.

Cardi BIt’s all part of TikTok’s continued foray into the music world.

In addition to Cardi B, others set to headline the event include Anitta, Niall Horan and Charlie Puth.

The event will take place on December 10 at Sloan Park in Mesa, Ariz.

Additionally, rising stars Isabel LaRosa, Kaliii, LU KALA and Sam Barber will perform as part of TikTok’s emerging artist program, TikTok Elevate.

For those unable to attend the event in person, In the Mix will be streamed globally via TikTok Live.

“I really love my TikTok fans and I’m very excited to be able to bring The Show to the TikTok In The Mix event,” Horan said in a press statement. “I’m also very much looking forward to performing in such a special venue and putting on an amazing show for all the fans that will be present on the day and also all the fans that will be watching from all over the world live on TikTok.”

With In The Mix, our goal is to bring the For You feed to life for fans at the venue and on TikTok,” added Paul Hourican, global head of music partnerships and programming at TikTok. “Our vision is to create a show that is reimagined for the TikTok era and our music-loving global community.”

In the Mix is an all-ages event, with tickets available to purchase exclusively on TikTok. Fans who follow the headlining artists on TikTok are able to receive a special code allowing them to purchase tickets presale tickets on from Friday, October 27 at 9 a.m. PT.

Tickets go on general sale starting Thursday, November 2 at 9:00 am PT.

Anitta Releases New Single “Mil Veces”

The 30-year-old Brazilian singer, songwriter, dancer, occasional television host and actress has released her new single “Mil Veces.”

AnittaIn her latest single, Anitta sings about the ups and downs of a relationship while reminiscing on the “thousand times” she and her lover have been together and how much her desire is still alive.

“If we get to do it again, we won’t be leaving my room,” she sings in the melodic Brazilian funk single, part of her forthcoming album Funk Generation.

“I love the attractive pop notes of its lyrics, which talk about a relationship that wasn’t meant to last but continues on and on experiencing ups and downs,” Anitta said in a press release. “It’s a relationship dynamic that many people have already experienced.”

The steamy music video, directed by Jackson Tisi, stars Måneskin singer Damiano David as her lover.

Selena Gomez Earns Three MTV Europe Music Awards

The 31-year-old Mexican American singer/actress leads all Latino/a nominees for the 2023 MTV Europe Music Awards with three nods.

Selena GomezGomez, who had previously earned five MTV EMA nods, is nominated for Best Song and Best Collaboration for her Rema-collaboration “Calm Down,” as well as Biggest Fans.

Anitta is nominated in two categories.

The 30-year-old Brazilian singer/songwriter is nominated for Best Latin, an award she won last year, and Biggest Fans.

Ice Spice, a first time MTV EMAs nominee, has picked up three nods.

The 23-year-old half-Dominican American singer/rapper is up for Best New and Best Push, as well as Best Collaboration for her PinkPantheress-collab “Boys A Liar Pt. 2.”

Cardi B has earned two nominations.

The 30-year-old half-Dominican American Grammy-winning rap superstar and two-time MTV VMAs-winner is up for Best Hip-Hop and Best Video for her Megan Thee Stallion collaboration “Bongos.”

Karol G and Shakira are both nominated in the same two categories. The Colombian artists are up for Best Collaboration for “TQG;” and they’ll compete against each other in the Best Latin category.

Peso Pluma has picked up his first ever MTV EMAs nods.

The 24-year-old Mexican artist, the sole Latino artist with multiple nods, is up for Best New and Best Latin.

Other nominees include Jared Leto (and his Thirty Seconds to Mars band mates), Bad Bunny, Rosalia and Robert Trujillo (and his Metallica band mates).

This year’s event will be broadcast live to more than 150 countries on November 5 from the Paris Nord, marking the first time the ceremony has returned to the City of Light since 1995; the show will also be available in a number of international territories on Pluto TV and on-demand on Paramount+.

Fans can vote for their favorite categories; voting will be open through 11:59 p.m. CET on October 31. Fans in 24 regions around the world will be able to vote for their favorite performers in the best local act category.

Anitta & TOMORROW X TOGETHER Release New Single “Back For More”

Anitta is back with More

The 30-year-old Brazilian singer-songwriter and TOMORROW X TOGETHER have released their new collaboration “Back For More.”

Anitta, TXT, TOMORROW X TOGETHER,The single arrived on all streaming platforms on Friday, September 15.

Alongside the track’s release, a music video also arrived, which featured the group members — Yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun and HueningKai — hitting expert choreography from the stage of an auditorium as they sing the chorus of the track, which dares the object of their affections to either be with them, or prepare to leave them all heartbroken.

“I can see you comin’ back for more/ Comin’ back for more (Yeah)/ If you walk out that door/ I can see you comin’ back for more/ Comin’ back for more (Yeah)/ If you walk out that door,” the boys sing on an infectious chorus.

Anitta provides an assist on the second verse of the track, and proves her endless devotion to the person lucky enough to catch her eyes. “Don’t wanna feel nobody/ If it isn’t you, baby/ They’re gonna call my night/ Been thinking about you, baby,” she seductively sings.

TXT performed “Back For More” alongside Anitta for their debut at the MTV VMAs on Tuesday night (September 12). “Back for More” — the pre-release single for The Name Chapter: FREEFALL (October 13 release date) — will receive a (TXT Ver.), a house remix and an Afrobeats remix, all of which will arrive on September 18.

Ice Spice Named Best New Artist at MTV Video Music Awards

Ice Spice is celebrating another award…

The MTV Video Music Awards have been handed out, with the 23-year-old half-Dominican American rap sensation taking home one of the top prizes.

Ice SpiceIce Spice beat out the likes of Peso Pluma, Renee Rapp, GloRilla, Kaliii and PinkPantheress for the Best New Artist award.

It’s the first MTV VMAs award of her young career. She joins previous Latinx Best New Artist winners Cardi B (2018) and Fifth Harmony with Latina members Camila Cabello, Lauren Jauregui and Ashley Brooke (2014).

Shakira, who was awarded the Video Vanguard Award, and Karol G picked up the award for Best Collaboration for the music video for their hit single “TQG.” It’s Shakira’s second win in the category following her win alongside Beyonce in 2007 for “Beautiful Liar.”

Anitta won the Best Latin award for her “Funk Rave” music video. It’s her second consecutive win in the category after winning last year for “Envolver.

Selena Gomez and Rema took home the Best Afrobeats prize for the hit single “Calm Down.”

The awards show was broadcast live from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on Tuesday, September 12, for the milestone 40th annual awards show.

Cardi B to Perform New Megan Thee Stallion-Collaboration “Bongos” at MTV Video Music Awards

The 30-year-old half-Dominican American Grammy-winning rap superstar and Megan Thee Stallion have joined the performer lineup for the upcoming awards show.

Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, BongosCardi B and Megan Thee Stallion will reunite for a debut performance of their just-released single “Bongos” during the ceremony, which will air live from New Jersey’s Prudential Center on Tuesday, September 12th at 8:00 pm ET/PT.

In 2021, the duo were five-time VMA nominees for their hit single “WAP” including Song of the Summer, Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration and Best Hip Hop.

The song made history as the first female rap collaboration to debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, then spending four weeks at the top spot as well as being certified platinum 8x in the U.S.

Peso Pluma is preparing to make a grand debut appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The 24-year-old Mexican singer-songwriter has been added to the list of performers for the upcoming MTV VMAs.

They join previously announced Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Wayne, Anitta, Doja Cat, Kelsea Ballerini, Tomorrow X TogetherDemi Lovato, Karol G, Måneskin and Stray Kids.

Fans can vote for their favorites across 15 gender-neutral categories, including “Video of the Year,” at vote.mtv.com through Friday, September 1st; voting for “Best New Artist” will remain active into the show on Tuesday, September 12th.

Anitta Teaming Up with TOMORROW X TOGETHER for New Single “Back for More”

There’s always Tomorrow for Anitta.

The 30-year-old Brazilian singer, songwriter, dancer, occasional television host and actress is joining voices with TOMORROW X TOGETHER for the new single “Back for More,” which combines K-pop and Latin pop elements.

Anitta & TOMORROW X TOGETHERAnitta and TOMORROW X TOGETHER will debut the track with a performance at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 12, days ahead of its September 15 release.

“Back for More” is slated to be TXT’s pre-release track, and will arrive ahead of the group’s third studio album, The Name Chapter: FREEFALL. The album — which follows previous release in the Name series, The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION — will be released on October 13.

The track will have several versions released throughout the month. A performance version of the song arrives the same day as its official drop, while “Back for More (TXT Ver.),” a house remix and Afrobeats remix will be released on September 18.

The press release describes “Back for More” as “a disco track with a groovy baseline and playful whistling sounds, adorned with the colorful hues of trendy Latin pop.”

Thematically, the lyrics explore how “enchanting miracles can be woven into the ordinary moments of our lives.”

TXT is nominated for VMAs in four different categories: song of summer, group of the year, push performance of the year and best K-pop (both for “Sugar Rush Ride”). Anitta scored one nomination for best Latin (“Funk Rave”).

The 2023 MTV VMAs will take place at the Prudential Center in New Jersey, and will air on MTV at 8:00 pm ET on September 12.
