Netflix Releases Trailer for Third Season of Manuel Garcia-Rulfo’s “The Lincoln Lawyer”

Manuel Garcia-Rulfo is on a special mission in the new season of The Lincoln Lawyer.

Netflix has released the trailed for the third season of the popular series starring the 43-year-old Mexican actor.

Manuel Garcia-Rulfo“It’s personal” for Mickey Haller, portrayed by Garcia-Rulfo, who is bound and determined to get to the bottom of who killed his former client Gloria Days (Fiona Rene).

“This one is personal, because it’s a client that he actually really cared about and thought she had gotten out of that life and out of danger,” co-showrunner Dailyn Rodriguez . “Mickey very much is [wondering], ‘Did he have something to do with this? Could he have done more to help her?’ ”

“We are walking into some very dangerous territory,” warns Lorna (Becki Newton) in the trailer

Netflix will premiere the third season of The Lincoln Lawyer on Thursday, October 17.

The third season sees the return of series stars Garcia-Rulfo, Newton, Jazz Raycole, Angus Sampson and Yaya DaCosta. Recurring/guest stars in Season 3 include Neve Campbell, Merrin Dungey, Elliott Gould, Devon Graye, Michael Irby, Maisie Klompus, Allyn Moriyon, Wolé Parks, John Pirruccello, Fiona Rene, Philip Anthony-Rodriguez, Jon Tenney and Krista Warner.

The 10-episode third season is based on the fifth book in Michael Connelly’s The Lincoln Lawyer series, The Gods of Guilt.

“While Season 3 of The Lincoln Lawyer is based on Michael Connelly’s novel The Gods of Guilt, we decided that a fun (and poignant) way to come into the season would be via a flashback sequence that gave us some insight into how Mickey Haller became Mickey Haller — not just the brilliant criminal defense lawyer but the husband, the father, and the man that he would come to be,” said co-showrunners and executive producers Ted Humphrey and Rodriguez in a statement to Deadline earlier this year.

“There is no comparable flashback in the book, so we devised something that would also serve as a fitting introduction to the story of the season, both on a plot level but also emotionally. These images, of a young Mickey finishing up surfing before a life-changing day at work, as well as cuddling on the couch with his wife Maggie after putting their young daughter Hayley to bed, are from a pair of these flashback scenes that bookend the first episode and propel us into the rest of Season 3,” they added.

The Lincoln Lawyer revolves around Mickey Haller (Garcia-Rulfo), an iconoclastic idealist who runs his law practice out of the back seat of his Lincoln as he takes on cases big and small across the expansive city of Los Angeles.

The series was created for television by David E. Kelley and developed for television by Humphrey. Connelly is an executive producer and writer on the series. Ross Fineman and Kelley are also executive producers.

The series is produced by A+E Studios, and Barry Jossen and Tana Jamieson serve as executive producers.
