The luck has run out for Lauren Jauregui, Camila Cabello, Ally Brooke Hernandez and the rest of Fifth Harmony on The X Factor…
During Thursday night’s season two finale, Simon Cowell’s all-girl group was the first of the three finalists eliminated.
Despite three strong performances during Wednesday’s performance show, Fifth Harmony – the underdogs on Fox’s singing competition – just couldn’t muster enough votes from America to claim the big prize: a $5 million recording contract.
Instead country crooner Tate Stevens won the competition, with tween singing sensation Carly Rose Sonenclar coming in second place.
But the ladies didn’t leave without some stellar performances…
At the beginning of the show, Fifth Harmony, Sonenclar and Stevensmade their grand entrance, singing the Beatles‘ “All You Need Is Love” on the red carpet as they made their way past the season’s former contestants that they beat on the way to the finals.
Later the ladies returned to give a festive performance of “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home),” which saw the group sing and dance around gifts, candy canes and other Christmas-related decorations.
No word yet on whether Fifth Harmony will get signed after the show, but Cowell did make a prediction after their elimination.
“I have a feeling that we’re going to be hearing and seeing a lot more of these girls in the future,” said Cowell.
