Adriel Favela Releases New Single “En Este Amor”

Adriel Favela is opening up about love…

The 30-year-old Mexican American singer has released the new single “En Este Amor.”

In the heartfelt ranchera, penned by Gussy Lau and Tamayo Aguilera, Favela opens up about a love that could no longer be, because the other person showed no effort and interest.

His powerful vocals belt out passionate lyrics about having the strength to forget his ex.

“Everything has been a happy accident because this song was aimed at another person, but at the end of the day, God has a purpose for us all and the song conveyed a lot,” he says in a statement. “I loved it! It has a beautiful essence which I think will differentiate itself from everything we’ve done before, and we’ve obviously put a lot of heart into it and we hope the audience receives it the same way.”

It’s a devilish time for Adriel Favela.

The 29-year-old Mexican American Regional Mexican artist has released his sixth studio album Cosas Del Diablo.

It’s Favela’s first album under his recording and production deal with Fonovisa Records, owned by Universal Music Latino.

“El Bo,” an infectious corrido-meets-norteño fusion with Sonora-based artist El Bala, was the first single off the album, his first LP release in four years.

On “Oveja Negra,” Favela pens honest and raw lyrics, attesting “I’m no Saint, I don’t like to play, and even though I’m not a bad person, I’m the Devil’s son.”

Corridos and melodious requintos have characterized Favela’s career throughout the years, but in Cosas del Diablo, he also includes catchy Banda tunes “Ray02” and “Bayo 17” with Luis R. Conriquez, and flaunts his vulnerability in heartfelt songs “Lagrimas de Miel” and “Lunes.”

“Corridos do not necessarily talk about negative things, on the contrary,” Favela previously said to Billboard. “My songs are corridos that talk about people’s battles and who have grown as a person.”

Prior to releasing his 15-track set, Favela dropped his Carin Leon-assisted single “Con Un Botecito A Pecho,” a country-tinged mariachi anthem for those who are finally getting over a breakup.

In the track, both artists sing about going out and drinking because they are happy and convinced that they will not get back with their ex.

Banda MS Earns 17th No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay Chart with “Ojos Cerrados”

It’s an eye-closing moment for Banda MS…

The Mexican banda act has earned its 17th No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart as “Ojos Cerrados” jumps 2-1 in its seventh week on the March 5-dated ranking.

Banda-MSThe track is Banda MS’ first collaboration with Carin León, who climbs up the list (31-18) with another collaboration: “Con Un Botecito a Pecho” with Adriel Favela.

“Ojos Cerrados” leads with 6.66 million in audience impressions, up 15%, earned in the week ending Feb. 27, according to MRC Data.

The track was released on January 7 via Lizos Music and composed by Horacio Palencia, Nathan Galante and Edgar Barrera.

With 17 No. 1s on its account, Banda MS breaks from a tie with four other groups for the second-most leaders, standing just behind Calibre 50’s 21 champs, since the chart’s inception in 1994.

“Ojos Cerrados” concurrently makes progress on the all-genre Latin Airplay chart with a 9-6 lift.

Back on Regional Mexican Airplay, “Ojos” follows another No. 1: “La Sinvergüenza,” a two-week champ (starting chart dated Nov. 27, 2021). Notably, out of Banda MS’ 17 hits, only three arrived through collaborations: in addition to the two already mentioned, “Somos Los Que Somos” with Los 2 De La S, ruled for one week in September 2020.

Sofia Reyes is finally back with a new album…

The 26-year-old Mexican pop singer has released her highly-awaited sophomore album Mal De Amores, five years after her debut set Louder!

On her new set, Reyes not only experiments with new musical approaches but also flaunts her maturity over the years.

She’s unapologetic, and the opening track “MUJER” is proof of that — a saucy cumbia with elegant violins where she simply says “I don’t regret being a woman.”

It follows with the galactic reggaetón banger “Marte,” the set’s focus track, performed in collaboration with Maria Becerra — a friendly reminder that women should never tolerate toxicity.

Reyes also navigates musical styles in Mal de Amores ranging from norteño (“GALLINA”) to corridos (“Amigos” with Adriel Favela, Danny Felix) to her signature pop-urban.

The 17-track set includes previously-released collaborations such as “1, 2, 3” with Jason Derulo and De La Ghetto, “R.I.P.” with Rita Ora and Anitta, “A Tu Manera (Corbata)” with Jhay Cortez, “De Casualidad” with Pedro Capo, and the Becky G-assisted title track.

Reyes also teamed up with Warner Music newcomers Leon Leiden and The Change.
