Jennifer Lopez Named the New Face of Guess

It looks like your guess may not be as good as Jennifer Lopez’s…

The 48-year-old Puerto Rican superstar has been tapped as the new face of Guess.

Jennifer Lopez

Lopez, one of the busiest women in Hollywood, has previously made her mark in the fashion world by collaborating with brands like Giuseppe Zanotti.

J.Lo., currently enjoying the success of her All I Have residency in Las Vegas, will team with brand co-founder Paul Marciano, and will star in the brand’s upcoming Spring 2018 marketing campaign.

“When I got the call from Paul Marciano asking me to become the new Guess Girl, I was thrilled and excited to be a part of such an iconic brand that I have loved since I was a teenager,” she said in a statement. When I look back at early Guess campaigns through the years, you see all of these beautiful models and iconic images that Paul has created. It is a tremendous compliment to have been selected for Guess’ spring 2018 campaign.”

Lopez joins current Guess campaign stars including singer Camila Cabello and rapper A$AP Rocky.

Her campaign was shot in an elegant villa by fashion photographer Tatiana Gerusova and draws inspiration from her life as a performer and actress.

“Jennifer Lopez is a Guess Girl’s dream! She is an accomplished artist, she is iconic, and sensual,” added Marciano.

“Jennifer’s impact and influence continues to grow and this campaign celebrates the notion that women get more beautiful and talented as they gain life experience. Her beauty and class shine through this campaign and I am so excited Jennifer accepted to be our new Guess Girl and at the same time ‘Femme Fatale‘ of Marciano.”

By working with the label, Lopez, who was recently named one of the highest paid women in the music business by Forbes, follows in the footsteps of Claudia Schiffer, Drew Barrymore, Adriana Lima and Kate Upton.

Gomez’s “Hands to Myself” Reaches No. 1 on Billboard’s Pop Songs Chart, Landing Her in Elite Company

Selena Gomez’s latest album is turning out to be Pop gold…

The 23-year-old half-Mexican American singer/actress has earned her third No. 1 on Billboard‘s Pop Songs radio airplay chart (dated April 16), as her latest single “Hands to Myself” lifts 2-1.

Selena Gomez

The song follows leaders “Good for You,” featuring A$AP Rocky, and “Same Old Love,” each of which led for two weeks beginning in September and January, respectively.

With all three songs from her latest album Revival, Gomez becomes just the sixth woman to score at least a trio of Pop Songs No. 1s from a single set (dating to the chart’s 1992 launch).

Here is the elite club and the albums and songs that gained them entrance:

Alanis Morissette, Jagged Little Pill: “Ironic,” “You Learn,” “Head Over Feet” (1996)

Avril Lavigne, Let Go: “Complicated,” “Sk8er Boi,” “I’m With You” (2002-03)

Lady Gaga, The Fame, “Just Dance” (featuring Colby O’Donis), “Poker Face,” “LoveGame,” “Paparazzi” (2009)

Katy Perry, Teenage Dream: “California Gurls” (featuring Snoop Dogg), “Teenage Dream,” “Firework,” “E.T.” (featuring Kanye West), “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.),” “The One That Got Away” (2010-12)

Taylor Swift, 1989: “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space,” “Style,” “Bad Blood” (featuring Kendrick Lamar), “Wildest Dreams” (2014-15)

Selena Gomez, Revival: “Good for You” (featuring A$AP Rocky), “Same Old Love,” “Hands to Myself” (2015-16)

Gomez to Receive Chart Topper Award at Billboard’s Women in Music Event

Selena Gomez is on a hot streak… And, she’s getting an award to prove it!

The 23-year-old half-Mexican American singer/actress will receive the Chart Topper award at Billboard’s annual Women in Music event, which will take place on December 11 in New York.

Selena Gomez

The prestigious award, won last year by Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, recognizes major career milestones on Billboard’s music charts.

Gomez has been in rare chart form. Her latest album, Revival, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in October with 117,000 equivalent first-week album units.

It’s Gomez’s second U.S. No. 1 album following 2013’s Stars Danceand to date she has enjoyed nearly 6.7 million worldwide album sales and over 22 million single sales.

The first single from Revival, “Good For You” featuring A$AP Rocky, is Gomez’s fastest-ever platinum seller and highest charting single on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 5. “Good For You” spent three consecutive weeks at No. 1 at Top 40 radio.

“In the last few months, Selena has broken onto the scene as an adult, and come into her own as an artist with the success of Revival,” comments Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media’s Entertainment Group, which consists of Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter. “We want to highlight this moment for a woman who has become a role model for many, a feminist, an independent voice whose new album truly showcases her as a mature artist.”

Lifetime has partnered with Billboard to televise the event for the first time on December 18, which will take place at Cipriani Midtown in New York.

Gomez to Reportedly Join Taylor Swift on Stage in Upcoming 1989 Tour Stop

Selena Gomez is ready to take the stage with Taylor Swift

The 23-year-old half-Mexican American singer/actress will reportedly serve as a special guest on her best friend’s 1989 tour, according to the U.K.’s Capital-FM station.

Selena Gomez

Capital posted a tweet on Sunday (August 16) after confirming that they were talking with Gomez:

“It’s official @selenagomez WILL be joining @taylorswift13 on stage as a guest!! She just announced it!! #excited @thisismax x,” read the tweet.

Reps for Swift and Gomez did not respond to a request from Billboard for comment, but the pairing makes sense: Gomez is featured in Swift’s tour videos that play in the stadiums during set breaks, and the former Disney star has a new single, “Good For You” featuring A$AP Rocky, that Swift has professed to adoring. Additionally, Gomez has a co-starring role in Swift’s “Bad Blood” video.

“Good For You” moves up to No. 11 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart after debuting at No. 9.

Following a two-night stint at Gila River Arena in Glendale, Ariz. beginning on Monday (Aug. 17), Swift’s 1989 trek will touch down at the Staples Center in Los Angeles for five consecutive nights, beginning on Aug. 21.

Swift’s recent special guests included Fifth Harmony, for a rousing rendition of the all-girl group’s “Worth It.”

“Same Old Love” to be Gomez’s Next Single from Her Upcoming Album “Revival”

It’s the same old, same old for Selena Gomez

The 23-year-old half-Mexican American singer’s second single from her upcoming studio album, Revival, will be a song entitled “Same Old Love.”

Selena Gomez

The track was unveiled at the iHeartMedia Music Summit, a forum for labels to preview their upcoming material to radio bigwigs, earlier this week.

A source confirms to Billboard that “Same Old Love” is the official title and next single from Revival, due October 9, and it is believed that Charli XCX, Benny Blanco and Stargate were involved in the creation of the song.

Meanwhile, Gomez’s current single “Good For You” is still performing well on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Featuring A$AP Rocky, the track moves up to No. 13 on this week’s Hot 100, after peaking at No. 9.

Gomez’s “Good For You” Earns Highest Debut & Greatest Gainer Honors on Billboard’s Pop Songs Chart

Good goes the good for Selena Gomez

The 22-year-old half-Mexican American singer’s latest track “Good For You,” featuring A$AP Rocky, has earned Greatest Gainer and top debut honors on this week’s Billboard Pop Songs chart.

Selena Gomez

It’s the first single from Gomez’s latest album, her debut Interscope Records release and the follow-up to her highly successful album Stars Dance.

The steamy video for Gomez’s “Good For You” has already garnered nearly 12 million views on Vevo since it was released on June 26.

For the yet-untitled album, Gomez is diving into some mature themes.

“I think I am turning into a young woman, so this is the next phase in my life, and I think it is important for me to take control over it,” she tells iHeartRadio. “[Fans] can expect a lot of insight on my perception of things. I think it shows a lot, not just about love.”

It’s more about perception on retaliation or friendships or pain in different ways,” she adds. “Faith. Having a spiritual connection. It kind of covers all bases.”

Gomez Releases Sultry Video for Her New Single “Good For You”

It’s looking good for Selena Gomez

The 22-year-old half-Mexican American singer/actress has released the music video for her new single “Good For You,” her collaboration with A$AP Rocky.

Selena Gomez

In this “stripped down version of the song,” which Gomez shared with her Twitter followers, the New York rapper — or anyone else other than the former Disney Channel star is present.

Gomez appears lying around in various positions, seemingly waiting for her special someone, as she coos “Make you never wanna leave/So don’t… so don’t.”

Later, Gomez appears in the shower, then a warehouse where she towers over the camera, and then to a few other sequences where Gomez writhes around.

The “Good For You” video, directed by Sophie Muller, has already garnered 9.4 million views on Vevo.

“Good For You” was released last week, and is the debut single for Gomez’s follow-up album to 2013’s Stars Dance.

In February, Gomez’s Zedd collaboration “I Want You To Know” was released, and the single became a Top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Carey & Miguel Release Spanglish Version of “#Beautiful”

Mariah Carey and Miguel are embracing their Spanish roots through music…

The 43-year-old half-Venezuelan singer and the 27-year-old half Mexican American R&B singer have released a Spanglish version of their hit collaboration “#Beautiful.”

Mariah Carey & Miguel

In the song entitled “#Hermosa,” the former American Idol judge and Miguel both sing the song’s lyrics in English and Spanish.

The Spanglish version of “#Beautiful” marks the second of five planned remixes to “#Beautiful”. Earlier this week, Mariah and Miguel worked together with A$AP Rocky to release a remix version of the track. The next projects will include hip-hop remix and dance mix.

It’s not Carey’s first time singing en Español. She previously recorded versions of her hits, “Hero” and “My All“, for her Spanish-speaking fans.

“#Beautiful” will be featured on Carey’s upcoming album, The Art of Letting Go, which was Initially due out on July 23. But the singer’s fourteenth studio album is now delayed indefinitely.

“While making this album, I got so immersed in the creative process that I just don’t feel it would be doing it justice to release it on 7/23,” she tweeted earlier this week.

“I’d rather not exclude meaningful songs,” she added. “I want to give you this album as it’s meant to be heard. When I’m ready, you’ll be the first 2 [to] know.”

Miguel to Perform at This Year’s Hot 97 “Summer Jam”

Miguel will be jammin’ this summer…

The 27-year-old half-Mexican American singer-songwriter, who will perform at this year’s Billboard Music Awards, has been added to the lineup of New York City’s Hot 97 Summer Jam event.

Miguel

Miguel, who will release his Art Dealer Chic EPs this summer, will be joined by fellow performers Chris Brown, Wu-Tang Clan, Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz, Fabolous, A$AP Rocky, Wale  and more at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium.

Summer Jam XX will take place on June 2.

The Hot 97 Festival Village, which takes place before the main event, from 2:00 – 6:00 pm EST, will include performances by Joey Bada$$, A$AP Ferg, Vinny Cha$e, Bodega Bamz and Radamiz.
