Campanella to Direct AMC’s “Halt & Catch Fire” Drama Pilot

Juan José Campanella’s career is catching fire

The 53-year-old Argentine filmmaker will direct former Pushing Daisies star Lee Pace and Mackenzie Davis in AMC’s drama pilot Halt & Catch Fire from AMC Studios.

Juan José Campanella

Set in the early 1980s, Halt & Catch Fire centers on the personal computing boom through the eyes of a visionary, an engineer and a prodigy whose innovations directly confront the corporate behemoths of the time. Their personal and professional partnership will be challenged by greed and ego while charting the changing culture in Texas’ Silicon Prairie.

Pace will portray the visionary, the confident and powerful Joe MacMillan. Once a superstar salesman at IBM, MacMillan recently departed under mysterious circumstances only to resurface at a Dallas tech company.

Davis will plays the prodigy, Cameron Howe, a talented but volatile computer programming graduate student whose aggressive exterior has everything to do with protecting a vulnerability underneath.

Campanella previously directed episodes of House: MD, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and 30 Rock, as well as the award-winning Argentine miniseries El hombre de tu vida.

Thomas Reportedly Expecting a Child with Alec Baldwin

Hilaria Thomas could be getting a visit from the stork soon…

The 28-year-old Spanish-born yoga instructor is reportedly expecting her first child with husband Alec Baldwin, according to In Touch Weekly.

Hilaria Thomas & Alec Baldwin

The news comes less than a year since Thomas and the 30 Rock star got hitched last summer.

“Hilaria has told only really close friends and family she is pregnant, only a close circle she trusts,” a close friend to Hilaria told In Touch. The source adds, “They are both so excited and Alec is so in love with her. She says she is so in love with Alec and he tells all her friends that she is the best thing that has ever happened to him.”

“[Hilaria] has not said much to anyone as far as how far along she is,” says the friend. “She is so healthy and a yoga freak, so everyone could tell right away something was different.”

A rep for the married couple declines to confirm the report, but hints that the couple may make an announcement when they’re ready. “Our response to baby speculation over the past 18 months has remained the same – when/if @abfalecbaldwin and @Hilariabaldwin have news they want to share, they will share it,” says the rep on Twitter. “Until then, we have no comment.”

Baldwin and Thomas, who is 26 years his junior, started dating in the summer of 2011. The couple then moved from the Upper West Side to Greenwich Village later that August before eventually getting engaged in April 2012. They got married at St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral in New York City on June 30 of last year.

In an interview with Piers Morgan last year, Baldwin gushed that he wanted to have kids with Hilaria ever since the first time he laid eyes on her. “Have I thought about having more kids? Oh sure, that would be great, that would be heaven, that would be fantastic,” he said.

Baldwin has a daughter, Ireland Baldwin, from his previous marriage with actress Kim Basinger.
