Shakirais heading to the small screen…
After screening in more than 2,000 theatres in more than 60 countries, the 42-year-old Colombian superstar’s concert film, Shakira In Concert: El Dorado World Tour, will make its debut on HBO, offering her fans an exclusive look at her most recent tour.
“We are thrilled and proud to have Shakira as part of our growing list of A-list artists featured on our network,” said Lucinda Martinez, executive vice president, Multicultural & Brand Marketing, WarnerMedia Entertainment. “This concert special will truly resonate with Shakira’s global fan base, as it takes behind the scenes of her biggest world tour yet.”
The film, which was released on the big screen back in November, documents Shakira’s 2018 El Dorado World Tour, which included more than 50 shows in 22 countries.
Subsequently, the live soundtrack Shakira In Concert: El Dorado World Tour peaked at No. 18 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart dated November 23, 2019.
Aside from watching Shak perform some of her biggest hits like “La Bicleta,” “Hips Don’t Lie,” and “Estoy Aquí” in front of massive crowds at sold-out shows around the globe, the documentary will include segments that gives viewers an “intimate behind-the-scenes look at the dedication she puts into her craft.”
The HBO special makes its debut just a few days before Shakira and Jennifer Lopez‘s highly anticipated halftime show at the Super Bowl on February 2.
The documentary will air on HBO and partners’ streaming platforms in the U.S. and Latin America on Friday, January 31 at 8:00 pm ET.
