Cobra Starship’s Gabe Saporta is lending his support to Eve’s musical return…
The 33-year-old Uruguay-born lead singer of the synthpop band, who recently confirmed his engagement to designer Erin Fetherston, lends his voice to the Grammy-winning rap superstar’s new single “Make It Out This Town.”
It’s the latest single from Eve’s upcoming album Lip Lock, which is slated for release on May 14. It’s her fourth studio effort and her first album since 2002’s Eve-Olution.
Co-written by Claude Kelly and featuring vocals by Saporta, “Make It Out Of This Town” appeals to the masses because of its well-crafted sugary-sweet Top 40-centric pop melody and Eve’s rap skills on verses like: “Wanna know when it’s your second, your minute, your time/ Sick of dreaming/ Wanna lay the pictures in your mind/ Never been like all the others/ You’re one of a kind.”
The single has some heart as well… It originally premiered last month as part of Big Brothers Big Sisters‘ National Mentoring Month conference in Washington, D.C.
“I wanted to share the positive place I have come into. I went through obstacles to get my music and message out and nothing embodies this more than this song, which also mirrors my recent honor and connection that comes with my role as an ambassador for Big Brothers Big Sisters,” said Eve about debuting the track at the conference. “The song is dedicated to them.”
