It’s a big first for Rosalia…
The 26-year-old Spanish singer picked up her first-ever MTV Europe Music Awards prize during Sunday night’s ceremony, which took place in Seville, Spain.
Rosalia, a four-time nominee this year, took home the Best Collaboration prize, for “Con Altura,” her chart-topping collaboration with J Balvin and El Guiche.
It’s the first Spanish-language song to win a major prize at the MTV EMAs, beating out massive hits from BTS and Halsey, Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus, Mark Ronson and Miley Cyrus, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello and The Chainsmokers and Bebe Rexha.
Meanwhile, FKA Twigspicked up her first MTV EMA.
The 31-year-old part-Spanish singer took home the prize for Best Alternative, beating out the likes of Lana del Rey, Solange, Twenty One Pilotsand Vampire Weekend.
Regional Latino winners included Mon Laferte, Sebastian Yatra, Anuel AA and Pabllo Vittar.
