Talk about hot for (math) teacher…
Adam Rodriguez has signed on to play a college math professor on Fox’s upcoming midseason comedy The Goodwin Games.
The 37-year-old Puerto Rican/Cuban American actor, who set hearts aflutter in the hit make stripper movie Magic Mike, will guest star as Ivan, a grade school friend of Chloe (Becki Newton) who becomes not only her professor but also a potential love interest.
The former CSI: Miami star will appear on a recurring basis. Rodriguez could appear in as many as four of the first 13 episodes.
Carter Bays, who created The Goodwin Games with fellow How I Met Your Mother executive producer Craig Thomas, describes Ivan via email as “a scrawny, insecure nebbish with crippling allergies,” adding: “Obviously Adam Rodriguez was the first person we thought of!”
The Goodwin Games, which centers on three siblings who stand to inherit millions if they can complete the crazy challenges in their deceased father’s will, also stars Scott Foley and T.J. Miller.
The Goodwin Games is slated to debut in early 2013.
