It’s a second Hands affair for Robert Trujillo…
The 54-year-old Mexican American bassist and his Metallica band mates have announced the date for their second annual All Within My Hands Foundation Helping Hands concert and auction to benefit their charitable foundation.
As with last year’s event, the March 28, 2020, show will take place at the intimate, 3,500-capacity Masonic Center. The band said that more details on the show will be announced soon.
“Mark your calendars to join us and see what we’ve been up to since the Foundation formed in 2017, learn about the charities we’ve supported and the work we’re doing in local communities, and we’ll close out the night by hitting the stage for a live performance,” the wrote in an announcement. “We hope you’ll join us again next year and keep watching here for more details coming by the end of 2019.
All Within My Hands is a 501(c)3 nonprofit foundation focused on creating sustainable communities by tackling the issues of hunger and workforce education and encouraging volunteerism. AWMH was established in 2017 as a way for Metallica and the entire Metallica family to give back to communities around the world that have supported the band on tour.
In its first six months of operation, the foundation donated more than $750,000 to local food banks around the world — a practice the band and AWMH continued on the North American leg of their WorldWired Tour, donating $10,000 to local food banks in every city and meeting dedicated people who focus their daily lives on helping others.
Last year’s event raised more than $1 million for the charity; the beneficiaries of the 2020 show have not been announced yet.
