Prince Royce is showing a new face…
The 31-year-old Dominican American bachata singer has released a remix to his latest hit single “Carita de Inocente,” featuring urbano artist Myke Towers.
“Carita de Inocente” landed at No. 1 on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay chart dated March 28, becoming Prince Royce’s 18th No. 1 on the chart.
The song is about a woman who has an angelic and innocent face but whose looks are deceiving.
The track’s music video has over three million views since its debut on February 20.
On the remix, Myke Towers brings his crisp vocals and urban flares just one minute into the track. The Puerto Rican artist also flaunts his singing abilities, chanting the sensual chorus towards the end.
In addition to releasing the remix this week, Prince Royce is one of the Latin artists opening up about the recent deaths of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who was suffocated to death by a Minneapolis police officer during an arrest last week, Breonna Taylor and other black citizens who’ve died at the hands of police.
“We must all band together, Latino, Black, White, Asian, to work for change,” he said. “Our nation is tired of racism, division, and hate. We can only heal and move forward towards a better future by dealing with this head-on, addressing it, educating ourselves and each other so that future generations never have to experience such injustices. This won’t bring any of the victims back but we must ensure they did not die in vain. Only in a nation free of racism will we all be able to breathe free again.“
Prince Royce also observed the music industry’s Blackout Tuesday initiative on June 2nd to reflect and show solidarity with the Black community.
