Dascha Polanco will face more prison days ahead.

The Dominican actress, who was raised in Miami and Brooklyn, has been promoted to series regular for season three of Netflix/Lionsgate’s hit series Orange is the New Black.

Polanco, in her first full-time acting gig, has appeared in nearly every episode of the prison-based dramedy’s first two seasons playing ‘jailbird sweetheart’ Dayanara Diaz.

Polanco’s character wants to be released from prison in order to be with her lover John Bennett (Matt McGorry) and the child they’re about to have together.

Polanco, who starred in Gimme Shelter, will next be seen in the upcoming Adam Sandler dramedy, The Cobbler.
