Nicky Jam Earns First No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs Chart

Nicky Jam has scored an unforgettable first…

The 34-year-old Puerto Rican singer-songwriter, whose real name is Nick Rivera Caminero, has earned his first No. 1 single on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart.

Jam’s “El Perdon,” featuring Enrique Iglesias (who scores his record-extending 26th No. 1 on the chart with the climb) leaps 6-1, with a 64 percent gain in sales (to 6,000 downloads according to Nielsen Music) in its fifth week on the chart.

An urban music fixture, Jam has posted six other tracks on the Hot Latin Songs chart since his first entry in 2004.

“El Perdon” is his first single to be released through Sony Music Latin after signing with the label in February.
