Melissa Villaseñor’s Saturdays will be booked for another season…
NBC has confirmed that all of last season’s Saturday Night Live cast members, including the 32-year-old Mexican American comedian/actress, will be returning for Season 46.
The sketch comedy series will return to New York City’s Studio 8H on October 3.
There had previously been talk that some of the show’s bigger names were considering leaving at the end of their contracts, including Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Cecily Strong and Kenan Thompson.
But ultimately the cast is staying intact, possibly because Season 45 was interrupted by COVID-19.
The returning cast consists of Beck Bennett, Bryant, Michael Che, Pete Davidson, Mikey Day, Chloe Fineman, Heidi Gardner, Colin Jost, McKinnon, Alex Moffat, Kyle Mooney, Chris Redd, Strong, Kenan Thompson, Villaseñor and Bowen Yang. Featured player Ego Nwodim was upped to a repertory player for this upcoming season.
They’ll likely be joined by the likes of Maya Rudolph, in some form, playing Kamala Harris, while Jason Sudeikis recently teased that he’d be up for playing Joe Biden again.
Villaseñor joined the SNL cast in 2016 as the show’s first-ever Latina cast member in its then 40+ year history.
