Max Releases Trailer for Comedy Series “Bookie,” Featuring Charlie Sheen

Max has released a trailer for Bookie, its upcoming eight-episode original comedy series starring the 58-year-old part-Spanish American actor.

Charlie SheenCreated by The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men co-creator Chuck Lorre and Nick Bakay, the dark comedy centers on longtime Los Angeles bookie Danny (Sebastian Maniscalco) and his roster of clients, one of whom is played by Sheen as he returns to television and reunites with Lorre twelve years after his dramatic Men exit.

Bookie will premiere on November 30 with two episodes. It’ll continue to release two episodes at a time every Thursday leading up to the season finale on Dec. 21.

In the trailer, Danny declares, “Nothing pisses me off more than people” while Sheen’s character proposes an out-of-the-box way of paying off his betting debts. The teaser, which you can watch above, also includes a plug for Max and one of its most popular series.

Bookie follows veteran Los Angeles bookie Danny (Maniscalco) as the potential legalization of sports gambling in California threatens to upend his business for good. Alongside best friend and former NFL player Ray (Omar J. Dorsey), side-hustling sister Lorraine (Vanessa Ferlito), and reluctantly reformed drug dealer Hector (Jorge Garcia), Danny must contend with his increasingly unstable clients as he tries to settle their debts – all while making plenty of risky bets of his own. Full of relatable mishaps, Bookie chronicles one man’s journey to adapt to an ever-changing world as he attempts to charm and con his way to the top.

The series’ main cast also includes Andrea Anders and Maxim Swinton. Sheen is a recurring guest star.
