Marc Anthony’s ready for a most Excellencetime…
The 50-year-old Puerto Rican legendary singer will receive the Latin AMA International Artist Award of Excellence at this year’s Latin American Music Awards, according to Telemundo.
Given for the first time, the International Artist Award of Excellence honors artists who turn the world around with their greatness, crossing over barriers of language, race or religion. Their nationality has no borders; they stand for peace, and their songs reverberate as musical anthems.
In May, the six-time Latin Grammywinner (and two-time Grammy winner) made his comeback to the music scene after releasing his eighth salsa album Opus. In 2012, Anthony started the Maestro Cares Foundation, hosting several fundraising events throughout the year to benefit the non-profit organization and build orphanages in Latin America. Also, the Puerto Rican star is the owner of his entertainment company, Magnus Media.
Anthony will also join the previously-announced lineup of performers including Ozuna, Becky G, CNCO, Gente de Zona, Farruko, Wisin & Yandel, Christian Nodal, Zion & Lennox, Beret,Abraham Mateo, Sofía Reyes, Lupita Infante,Kali Uchis, and Emilia Mernes.
Hosted by Eugenio Derbezand Jacky Bracamontes, the 2019 Latin AMAswill broadcast live from theDolby Theaterin Hollywood, California on October 17.
The award ceremony will also air simultaneously on Spanish-language entertainment cable network, Universoand in 20 countries throughout the Americas via Telemundo Internacional.
