It appears Louis C.K. is the new King of Comedy…
The 44-year-old part-Mexican American actor/comedian has received five nominations at the 2012 Comedy Awards, tying Modern Family, 30 Rock, Bridesmaids and Crazy, Stupid, Love for the most nods.
Louis C.K.’s five nominations include three for his hit FX series Louie, one for his straight-to-internet comedy special Louis C.K.: Live at the Beacon Theater and one for best stand-up tour.
In all, Louie received four nominations, including best directing.

But Louis C.K. isn’t the only Hispanic star in the running for a Comedy Award.
Part-Cuban American actress Cameron Diaz has received a nod in the Performance by an Actress – Film category for her work in Bad Teacher.
Meanwhile, Colombian bombshell Sofia Vergara has received a Performance by an Actress – TV nomination for work on ABC’s Modern Family.
This year’s second annual Comedy Awards will take place on April 28 at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom and air on Comedy Central on May 6.
