Despite her superstar persona, Jennifer Lopez is ready to prove she’s still the same girl who grew up in the Bronx…
In what could be called a sequel to her hit autobiographical single “Jenny from the Block,” which she performed with Taylor Swift in Los Angeles, the 44-year-old Puerto Rican singer/actress and returning American Idol judge has announced that her next single will be titled “Same Girl.”
Lopez is now working on the official music video for the first track from la Lopez’s upcoming album, which will be released early next year.
On December 28, she was even spotted wearing jeans, a black jacket and a New York Yankees cap while filming the video in the Castle Hill neighborhood of The Bronx. She was spotted dancing with several ladies while a snippet of the song was played in the background.
The video was directed by Steven Gomillion and Dennis Leupold, who have previously worked with Lopez on other projects.
“Same Girl” is rumored to have been written by Lopez in collaboration with Chris Brown and Cory Rooney. The three of them were pictured hitting a studio recording together back in March. Lopez then posted the photo on Twitter and used the hashtag #SameGirl.
Lopez’ tenth studio album is expected to be released sometime in 2014.
