The 47-year-old Puerto Rican actress has landed a series regular role opposite E.J. Bonilla, Olivia Thirlbyand Britt Lower in ABC’s Until the Wedding, a romantic drama pilot from writer Becky Mode, producers Sarah Timberman& Carl Beverly, Alon Aranya, Israel’s Reshet Mediaand ABC Studios.
Based on the Israeli series of the same name (Ad Hatuna in Hebrew), Until the Wedding is the story of how one couple’s decision to get married can affect everyone in their lives. The show will explore the intimate relationships of a group of friends/family as Adrienne (Thirlby) and Danny (Bonilla) are forced to reckon with their own romantic lives and come to terms with the realities of love and marriage. The original series, created by Avner Bernheimerand Anat Weizmanand produced by Ami Amir’s Matar Productions, aired on Israel’s Reshet 13.
Colon-Zayas will portray Nancy, Danny (Bonilla) and Laura’s (Thirlby) mother.
Her previous television credits include Sex and the City, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Blue Bloodsand Dexter.
Juani Felizhas also joined the cast as a series regular. The Dominican actress will portrayIsabel in the pilot.
Feliz’s previous roles include appearances on Shades of Blueand Blue Bloods.
Susannah Grant will direct the pilot.
