Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton is the hit that just keeps on giving…
The 2018 Olivier Awards nominations have been released, with the 38-year-old Puerto Rican composer, lyricist, playwright, and actor’s phenom musical earning a record-breaking 13.
Hamilton takes the crown from Harry Potter and The Cursed Child, which last year scored 11 (tying with 2008’s Hairspray).
Hamilton is nominated in the Best New Musical and Best Director categories as well as Outstanding Achievement in Music, as well as six acting nominations.
Miranda previously won an Olivier Award in 2008 for Outstanding Achievement in Music for In The Heights.
The Oliviers will be held at the Royal Albert Hall on April 8. They’ll be broadcast worldwide with details to follow.
