Lifetime has set premiere date for its original television movie Pride & Prejudice: Atlanta, starring the Afro-Latino actor, on Saturday, June 1.
Pride & Prejudice: Atlanta, featuring an all-African-American cast, is Lifetime’s modern take on the Jane Austenclassic. It follows Reverend Bennet (Reginald VelJohnson), a pastor of a prominent Southern Baptist church, and his wife Mrs. Bennet (Jackée Harry), who is the author of a self-help book on how to find the perfect husband.
In addition to VelJohnson, Harry and Antonio, who portrays Will Darcy, the TV movie also stars Tiffany Hines, Raney Branch, Brittney Level, Reginae Carterand Alexia Bailey.
Pride & Prejudice: Atlanta is produced by Big Dreams Entertainmentand Swirl Films. Rhonda Barakadirects from a script written by Tracy McMillan.
