Everything’s coming up roses for Kali Uchis…
The 28-year-old Colombian American genre-blending singer/songwriter has released her latest single “I Wish You Roses,” along with the track’s music video.
Produced by Dylan Wiggins and Josh Crocker, the new single follows Uchis’ recent songs “La Única” and “No Hay Ley.”
“This song is about being able to release people with love. It could be a friend, a lover, or someone else, but the point is to celebrate releasing people from your life without being resentful or bitter,” says Uchis about the single.
The single showcases Uchis’ power as a hook creator; her ability to conjure lush choruses and sing them with verve and tenacity nods to the artist stepping more into the mainstream this year.
Uchis released her studio album, Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios) ∞, in 2020.
She’s set to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April.
