The 44-year-old Colombian superstar has released his highly anticipated new single and video “Hermosa ingrata.” It’s already been viewed more than 2.7 million times on YouTube.
The new single is inspired by old-school Colombian cumbia.
“When I was in the studio with Sky and Mosty thinking about what we were going to do, I was listening to some cumbias from the ’60s and ’70s,” says the chart-topping artist. “From then on we created the song about a girl who is beautiful but is ungrateful and has made you suffer.”
“Hermosa ingrata” is the second advance track from his forthcoming visual album, Mis Planes Son Amarte. It follows the set’s first single “Fuego,” which reached No. 1 on Billboard‘s Latin Airplay chart.
On the latest episode of Billboard’s Latin Connection Podcast, Juanes expands on the ambitious visual LP, which centers on a Colombian astronaut who travels through time and space to find the woman of his dreams.
Mis Planes Son Amarte is due in the upcoming months, along with a special feature on HBO and a tour.
