Guillermo del Toro is ready to talk…
The 54-year-old Mexican Oscar-winning filmmaker has been added to the speaker lineup for this year’s Tribeca Film Festival.
del Toro, who won two Academy Awardsfor his romantic dark fantasy film The Shape of Water, including Best Director, will speak about his television and film career as part of the festival’s Tribeca Talks.
Special combination talks featuring Martin Scorseseand Robert De Niro, as well as director David O. Russellwith Jennifer Lawrence, will also be part of this year’s talks.
Other speakers include Dee Rees, producer Irwin Winkler and performers including Michael J. Fox and Queen Latifah.
“Our Tribeca Talks have been so successful because they bring together cultural icons to discuss and debate a wide range of topics,” Tribeca Enterprises EVP Paula Weinsteinsaid. “With each participant comes a different perspective and set of career experiences, which, when juxtaposed with those of the other participants and audience members, creates an exclusive experience. No two Tribeca Talks are the same.”
The 18th annual Tribeca Film Festival runs from April 24 to May 5.
