Nicholas Chavez is celebrating a big recognition…

The 49th annual Daytime Emmy Awards were doled out on Friday, with the 23-year-old Latino actor and daytime rising star taking home an award.

Chavez, who stars as Spencer Cassadine on ABC’s General Hospital, was named Outstanding Younger Performer in a Drama Series.

This was Chavez’s first win and first nomination.

Meanwhile, General Hospital — already the winningest soap opera in daytime history – was named Outstanding Daytime Drama.

The in-person ceremony aired live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+ from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
