Talk about a good girl gone bad… Aura Cristina Geithner is preparing to play yet another antagonist on television, after years of playing the good girl…
The 45-year-old Colombian telenovela actress will be starring as the villain opposite Mexican actors Francisco Angelini and Maria Jose Madan in TV Azteca’s new telenovela Quererte asi.
The new soap opera, which premieres on Monday, April 16, tells the story of the conflicts that arise in the romantic relationship between a rich girl and a poor young man.
Geithner describes her character, Emilia Duncan, as a “woman with a lot of money, with power, attractive but cold, calculating, sarcastic, who knows what she wants, but her Achilles heel is her ambition.”
Geithner, an international acclaimed telenovela star, garnered widespread recognition for her role in the TV Azteca melodrama Cielo Rojo, in which she played Mariana.
In recent years, the Colombian actress has managed to cement her status as a great actress in her role as a villain after beginning her career as “the good girl, admired and valued.”
“In Secretos de Amor, which I recorded in Miami, it gave me satisfaction to play a villain for the first time,” she said.
