Fernando León de Aranoa is celebrating a good win…
The European Film Awards winners have been revealed, with the 54-year-old Spanish screenwriter and film director’s The Good Boss (El buen patrón) taking home a top prize.
León de Aranoa’s acclaimed film, starring Javier Bardem, was named Best European Comedy.
The film had previously received a record-breaking 20 nominations to the 36th Goya Awards, winning six, including Best Picture, Best Director for Leon de Aranoa and Best Actor for Bardem.
The awards ceremony, overseen by the European Film Academy, took place in the Icelandic capital of Reykjavík. The nominations in the key categories, including European Film, Director, Actor, and Actress, are voted on by the 4,400 members of the academy in a three-stage process.
