Enrique Iglesias is feeling the chill of a broken heart…
The 43-year-old Spanish superstar has joined voices with Jon Z to release his first-ever trap song, titled “Despues Que Te Perdi.”
Iglesias is always on top of what’s new in music, and that’s why he was looking for a way to join the Latin trap movement without leaving aside his essence. The result? He joined Jon Z to launch a new version of “Despues Que Te Perdi,” originally launched on February 15 by the Puerto Rican singer.
Recognizing potential for a major crossover, Iglesias personally reached out to Jon Z and what came out is a heartfelt and hypnotic love song energized by 21st-century trap production and thick beats for his new single.
“I was surprised,” Jon Z tells Billboard. “I have admired Enrique since I was a child.”
The song was written by Jon Z, Iglesias, Duran The Coach, Martin Rodriguez Vicente, Roberto Arturo Tejada Perezand Marcos Sanchez.
As for the lyric and sound, the two versions of the song are the same: Iglesias didn’t make any change, just added his voice. “No changes were made. The idea was that it was a duet and really for me, it was an honor,” Jon Z said.
